The congratulations Harbaugh got included a text from legendary coach John Madden, highly praising the O-line

That is an Awesome compliment from John Madden.
Congrats coach Sherrone Moore and to the players themselves.
No "Doinks".

I honestly thought that Madden had died several years ago.
November 28th, 2021 at 5:00 PM ^
I thought it was just me. This must be the guy who played hockey for Michigan.
November 28th, 2021 at 5:06 PM ^
Same. That's some Mandela Effect shit.

In New York one night, I saw Madden smoking a cigar on a bench outside Central Park.
He always seemed like a nice guy so I wanted to say something to him. But I walked on by, not wanting to interrupt him, trailing his smoky clouds of glory.

Wikipedia says he is Alive and 85
November 28th, 2021 at 6:12 PM ^
Is it up to date, though? I think he's dead. I think what we hearing is his voice in some pc football game.
November 28th, 2021 at 5:29 PM ^
My wife and I were just discussing that while watching NFL. Thought he had passed.
November 28th, 2021 at 5:52 PM ^
You're thinking of Keith Jackson, but I think he's still alive too.
November 28th, 2021 at 7:53 PM ^
If John Madden wants the world to believe he is alive, he ought to get his ass back in a recording studio and do the voice tracks for Madden 22.
December 28th, 2021 at 8:17 PM ^
Well, this one aged poorly. RIP Coach Madden.
November 28th, 2021 at 5:03 PM ^
Pfft what does JOHN MADDEN know about football
Obvious /s
November 28th, 2021 at 5:11 PM ^
Tell him he can drive his bus up to A2 for a game whenever he wants.
November 28th, 2021 at 5:11 PM ^
Oddly enough, didn't OSU lead the conference in sacks? Not only were they shut out in sacks. There wasn't a single TFL.
November 28th, 2021 at 5:11 PM ^
You used to be able to put Stick'em on your hands, but now they've got those gloves
November 28th, 2021 at 5:17 PM ^
The run blocking/physicality obviously gets the most attention, but only giving up 9 sacks, even on a low number of attempts, is just outstanding. Combine that with Cades decision making and you get just 3 INTs
November 28th, 2021 at 5:18 PM ^
Yeah, that was a masterclass. And not one negative yardage play, against the number two team in the country? OMG.
November 28th, 2021 at 6:15 PM ^
Isn't everyone coming back next year? Or is Vastardis graduating? These are some heady times for Michigan football...
November 28th, 2021 at 6:55 PM ^
I think Vastardis must graduate but everyone else could return. Stueber and Hayes are the interesting ones IMO.

Running the ball isn't always the sexiest thing, but there is nothing so satisfying as just steamrolling an opponent at the line of scrimmage. Nothing fluky about it. Weather had nothing to do with it. OSU knew it was coming . . . . it didn't matter.
November 28th, 2021 at 6:10 PM ^
Running might not be sexy, but that game was sex.
November 28th, 2021 at 6:30 PM ^
Air Raid offenses bore the crap out of me. I'd rather watch a strong running game.
November 28th, 2021 at 5:33 PM ^
Boom!
November 28th, 2021 at 5:40 PM ^
Read elsewhere UM only had to deal with two 3rd downs the 2nd half. That's insane.
November 28th, 2021 at 6:41 PM ^
Both on the third drive. Chambers jumped offsides on 3rd and one and we just missed a deep shot; Burke interfered on Wilson on 3rd and two.
Not only were there no third downs on the other three drives, there were only two second downs.

High praise from the a king indeed. Very cool story. Like what Harbaugh did with it too.
The offensive line deserves a ton of credit. In watching the highlights today there were some huge holes. Prior to game thought Michigan would need to win turnover battle to win game. Turns out winning the line of scrimmage the way they did was plenty to win decisively. Credit both Offensive and Defensive Lines.

Keith Jackson also has never seen an O Line play better and he's seen a lot of them
November 28th, 2021 at 6:44 PM ^
Thanks for posting this. It's definitely worth a click. (Very short article.)
November 28th, 2021 at 6:47 PM ^
"Hey, the offensive linemen are the biggest men on the field, they're bigger than everybody else, and that's what makes them the biggest men on the field."
- John Madden.

I liked the o-line response after the helmet throw.
Bruh you just won the Marcus Hall epic double bird of the week.
November 28th, 2021 at 8:50 PM ^
Our whole line is All-Madden
November 28th, 2021 at 9:17 PM ^
Now he just needs Frank Caliendo to act out the text and embellish it in front of the O Line room.
Huge ups to Sherrone Moore for what he's done with the offensive line. I just hope we can hang onto him for another couple of years. Funny how our perception of him goes from ace recruiter/huge ? as a coach to please please please don't go!
