M hockey vs. Ferris State open thread
Figured I would post since the game's about to start/
No t.v. today in Ferris, but it's at Yost and on Comcast tomorrow
Radio is in it's usual place.
Daily is live blogging: https://www.michigandaily.com/content/live-no-4-michigan-takes-ferris-state-big-rapids

A related question, am I the only one that's choosing to go to tomorrow's game at Yost rather than watch the Penn St game? Anyone happen to have extra club seats for tomorrow's game at Yost that they want to sell (there are tvs up there)?
October 29th, 2010 at 7:00 PM ^
I'm going to the game at Yost tomorrow. I am recording the PSU game.
NO SPOILERS PLEASE!
October 29th, 2010 at 7:03 PM ^
You just asked for no spoilers on the internet? in an open thread? about the game?
What?
October 29th, 2010 at 7:25 PM ^
Not quite. He asked for no spoilers about the Michigan vs. PSU game in the Ferris game thread.

We'll probably be yelling out score updates to each other (in the student section at least). SportsTap = best Android app EVER

hopefully i will get a good signal. anyone listening to the audio feed on mgoblue.com: anyone still have audio in the first intermission?
October 29th, 2010 at 8:07 PM ^
Yeah, I'm not getting the audio stream, either. What's going on?
Despite the upgrades, MGoBlue.com is still terribly unreliable in its game coverage.
October 29th, 2010 at 8:14 PM ^
Glad to know it's not just me. Or my computer. Any other options?
October 29th, 2010 at 8:16 PM ^
I sent an e-mail to MGoBlue.com, told them that they suck. Iti's incontrovertible, their website does this for audio streams ALL the time, and they still haven't fixed it.
Unfortunately, I'm out of radio range, too.
October 29th, 2010 at 8:23 PM ^
1-0 Ferris, late 2nd. Ferris got their goal on a 40-foot one-timer from Alexander.
I will be at Yost as well, but I'm a Ferris alum.
October 29th, 2010 at 8:26 PM ^
No problem, thanks for the update, we enjoy congenial, non-combative fans around these parts.
October 29th, 2010 at 8:29 PM ^
No worries.
I've been around USCHO for 13+ years, and held tickets at Yost for 9 years. I've been through the flame wars on both sides.
October 29th, 2010 at 8:32 PM ^
Oh, and it's 1-0 Ferris through 2.
Ferris carried the play a bit until the 1st goal, and then after the goal Michigan really started to swarm. One Ferris slash (a good call), followed by another slash (a chickenshit call) led to a short Michigan 5x3, but Ferris has been able to thwart Michigan so far. I'm watching it on Ferris' B2 feed. No Ferris audio available.
October 29th, 2010 at 8:40 PM ^
It's still 1-0 bad guys.
October 29th, 2010 at 8:43 PM ^
SOG:
Ferris 11-9-20 total
Michigan 3 (huh?)-15-18 total
October 29th, 2010 at 8:52 PM ^
Audio stream returns! Yay, we only missed half the game.

UM - nill, FSU - 1
October 29th, 2010 at 9:06 PM ^
2-0 Ferris on a Redmond PP goal. 8:08 to go.
October 29th, 2010 at 9:10 PM ^
2-1 now. 6:37 to go.
Fallon with his first collegiate goal.
October 29th, 2010 at 9:11 PM ^
Fallon with a high-percentage shot, strange deflection, it sounds like.
October 29th, 2010 at 9:11 PM ^
First goal for Michigan.
October 29th, 2010 at 9:12 PM ^
VV, that's a fair assessment. I saw the goal.
October 29th, 2010 at 9:13 PM ^
Bad guys still up by one.
October 29th, 2010 at 9:13 PM ^
Gotta love CCHA refs, evening it up, just because, haha.
October 29th, 2010 at 9:18 PM ^
It was a marginal call. I wouldn't have blown the whistle.
October 29th, 2010 at 9:21 PM ^
Just over a minute and good guys are down one. Let's go blue!!
October 29th, 2010 at 9:25 PM ^
Under review, but it looks like a good goal.
2-2, 12.7 to go.
October 29th, 2010 at 9:25 PM ^
FSU still up by one.
October 29th, 2010 at 9:26 PM ^
Tied it up with 12 seconds left!
October 29th, 2010 at 9:28 PM ^
Tie game baby!!!!
October 29th, 2010 at 9:33 PM ^
So, I've got to go to bed and wake up at 3:30am. Hopefully, I'll be happier then I am now thanks to M Hockey!!
October 29th, 2010 at 9:38 PM ^
Shootout.
October 29th, 2010 at 9:38 PM ^
We carried the play in OT, but we have never performed well in the SO. Hopefully, our luck changes.
October 29th, 2010 at 9:42 PM ^
Not in the hockey team, but in the audio feed. I decided to test the Football Coach's Show from Thursday because I wasn't able to play before and from your reports above realized it might not be my computer after all. It worked! I listened. Just came back to test the audio feed and heard, "So that does it for OT." Guess I missed some excitement.
October 29th, 2010 at 9:46 PM ^
Ferris wins shootout 2-0.
For Ferris:
Redmond scores, Graham stopped, Billins scores
For Michigan:
Hagelin stopped, Caporusso stopped, Billins' score above ended it.
October 29th, 2010 at 10:30 PM ^
Am I the only one who hates the shootout?
October 29th, 2010 at 10:46 PM ^
You aren't.
October 29th, 2010 at 11:03 PM ^
No, you certainly are not.
October 29th, 2010 at 11:15 PM ^
I think it's stupid to end any team sports game with what amounts to a fucking skill competition. It'd be like having a 3-pt contest to decide a bball game or a home run derby after 10 innings in a baseball game. I'm all for bringing the tie back to the NHL and college hockey.
October 29th, 2010 at 11:46 PM ^
I'm not a fan of the shootout, either. Never have been. Never will. If they're hell-bent on having a winner, go 4x4 for 10 minutes, then 3x3 for another 10. You can decide if you want to zamboni the ice before OT, and I won't object either way. You're bound to have a winner that way.
October 30th, 2010 at 8:10 AM ^
How does that work with conference standings? Is that just a straight up loss?
October 30th, 2010 at 9:05 AM ^
The shootout loser gets one point in the conference standings, the winner gets two points.
If a game is decided in regulation or in overtime, the winner gets 3 and the loser gets 0.
