I feel good about MSU and Iowa. I won't feel good about OSU until I actually see them not blow our faces off one year. I think 10-2 is in the cards if we get a QB and some LBs

I think we'll start 8-0. The trio of MSU, Iowa, and Ohio will make or break the season.

Losses @ Iowa and @OSU.
November 28th, 2015 at 7:34 PM ^
Put it in the book.
Where's the book?
Has anybody seen the book?
November 28th, 2015 at 7:37 PM ^
9-3 add a loss @ EL too.
Rather be pleasantly surprised than let down.

But Sparty's time is over.
That said, Barrett is back and will be the #1 QB all off-season. I'll pass on being the one to think we go to Columbus and win after what I saw today.

Given that this is a long term rebuild... nothing tells me that EL will be a gimme.
Somehow that makes me toxic?
Sorry I happen to not be denial about how MSU is actually a GOOD program that ISN'T going anywhere.
Jesus are Michigan fans in denial. It's pathetic at this point.

2 or 3 seasons of mediocrity when Meyer came in because Tressell had the cupboards completely stocked when he was terminated.
November 29th, 2015 at 3:44 AM ^
When Urbz arrived! Michigan has been out of phase for quite sometime. A lot of potential top players did not pan out, probably due to coaching. Harbaugh has to rebuild and re-tool. Don't think we will be an elite team until his fourth season. Appreciate the 8 and 9 win season for a while! It is much better than finishing sub .500 like the past two coaches!

Nope just being a realist. I predicted 10-2 this year. 10-3 is likely. This was a nice schedule compared to next year.
Nothing about this team gives me any indication that away games at Iowa, MSU and OSU are Ws.
So kindly go fuck yourself Klein.
November 28th, 2015 at 9:55 PM ^
i consider myself a realist too, but throwing Iowa in there just because of one year when they played nobody seems a little bit much.

the Sparties to 10/11 win seasons before you realise he's for real? How many top ten teams does he have to beat? Trust me, next year in EL is going to be a bitch...
November 28th, 2015 at 8:30 PM ^
Rofl.. how many times now have I heard Sparty's time will be over?
Sparty isn't going anywhere. Get used to it.

Next year's game at MSU is neither a gimme or sure loss, and suggesting otherwise in either direction is silly.
MSU loses a bundle of starters with the majority coming at extremely key position groups. No, they aren't going to suddenly become Purdue, but it's not insane to suggest they should be more beatable next season.
It's hard to predict these games the day before they take place yet somehow there's certainty about the way they'll go.
I think we win the Big Ten next year as our trenches should go from 3rd or 4th best in the Big Ten to the top 1 or 2 but I am by no means confident in that prediction - let's see who our starters are at linebacker, at QB, at RB and what our injury situation looks like when the season begins. There's so many damn variables, but we are on the short list of favorites in the conference next season, despite the difficult road schedule.

I hope it will happen soon, but people on this blog have been saying that since at least 2009.

are a bunch of BS..How one team IOWA doesnt have to play OSU UM MSU or Penn St is just a complete Joke..and not fair at all...Who you dont play matters as much as who you dont..I liked it better when the divisions were balanced

Ohio State is one of those RELOAD teams; I'm sure they've got plenty of talent waiting to step up. The thing that is going to get us a "W" in C-bus next year is how well Coach Harbaugh can recruit after this year; if we can get some more playmakers, we'll have a chance.

This is Jim Harbaugh's first year. I don't know if we will beat osu next year but I bet it's a helluva lot more competitive than today was. This is Jim Harbaugh, not some schmuck off the street.

In 2013? They lost to the Orange Bowl champs by 5 and the Rose Bowl champs on a failed 4th and 1 stand. Hardly "destroyed". We weren't talking about last week.

but remember, I don't think any of those 3 will be better, I think maybe peaked, especially Iowa, they're not gonna have another magical ride like this year.
ANd we are going to only get better as the Harbaugh train gets rolling even more.
November 28th, 2015 at 8:05 PM ^
For sure we will be better and MSU and Iowa will maybe take a step back. OSU will probably be the same or only slightly worse since it's Urban Meyer. If they are better next year after losing all of their key players on offense, god help us.

On the other hand, UCF will be MUCH improved next year. They were 0-12 this year.
Don't they have to be better next year?

We never seem to avoid any of the better teams on the other side (like Ohio State and Michigan State always do).
Northwestern finished 10-2 by the way.
In my opinion, anything more than 1 loss would be disappointing going into the Ohio State game.
The excuses are done for losing to msu. With the debacle punt, that game is an absolute MUST win.
The hope is that O'Korn is actually as good as the offseason reports said (best QB on the roster according to some Scout Forum insiders)

msu avoided Ohio State in 2009, 2010, and 2013.
Avoided respectable Penn State teams in 2011-2013.
msu's crossevers were against two of the worst teams in the west.

O-line and linebackers (and running backs to a lesser degree) appear to be the two units that are the difference between 9-3 and possibly playing for a playoff spot right now.

Morris was not good enough at this point to be the backup. Harbaugh saved him a year just in case he does not work out here. We'll see what happens this spring but if there is no chance for Morris, I'm sure Harbaugh will tell him it is best to transfer if would like playing time. I think the job will be O'Korn's too lose!
