The offense IS starting all over. Not sure about the defense.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:58 PM ^
Clearly after losing two top 12 draft picks plus an all american, they're starting over. Problem is, they didn't recruit/retain a DT for two years and instead recruited a mountain of DBs that are all useless. This staff just has no idea how to construct a balanced roster.
So they're starting from not much instead of reloading like good teams do.

Top programs continue to prosper.
Michigan is not a top program.
If you want to be a top program......hire a coach like Urban Meyer.

Yeah but we didn't lose to Alabama, Osu or Clemson. We lost to Wisconsin, a team whose composite team recruiting ranking average over the past five years is 37.6.

Start all over? Like before Adam ate the apple? Or before Gary Moeller got plastered at Excalibur? Or before Bill Martin went yachting and blew the Les Miles hire?
September 21st, 2019 at 4:09 PM ^
Good one.

Hi PonyConqueror, I'm Turtleboy, it's nice to meet you. So, what brings you to the blog?

Doing good. I like a Sparty but still, doing good.

You like a sparty? Man I think you've had more to drink than I have, pony
September 21st, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
?
I get all the angst, but are we that destitute? I know many today will say yes because this one hurt, but I just think we can respond from this game...
September 21st, 2019 at 3:57 PM ^
I am a Harbaugh guy, but come one it’s not just this game leading to people wanting a change
September 21st, 2019 at 4:13 PM ^
I know. There have been multiple painful games. Maybe the jig is up soon, but we have a long season ahead.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:16 PM ^
Hopefully Harbaugh wins every game from here on out. But he abandoned what he was as a coach after 2016, his best year. He’s an offensive mind who runs a pro style offense. We run...a speed in space offense? A version of Joe Mooreheads offense? How’s that working at Mississippi State without Saquan Barkley? Don Brown is running a Big XII defense in the Big Ten. Hoke was a terrible coach but he built the 2016 team. The best one Harbsugh had. Yes I’m off the train, because I think the game has passed Harbaugh by. Gattis isn’t the guru we hoped/ Harbaugh hoped. Now we’re nowhere with who knows what. I have no idea where this team is strong.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:27 PM ^
Tell Gattis to gather up his portable security cameras, he gone after this year.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:28 PM ^
He’s good at making game plans. Apparently
September 21st, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
Get rid of the whole staff this team is very poorly coached
September 21st, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
All of the sudden Michigan is bad at football again. WTF?
September 21st, 2019 at 3:53 PM ^
Fourth time’s the charm?
Come on.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:53 PM ^
Charles Woodson just said on national tv that he is “embarrassed” by Michigan’s showing today.
Ditto.

Who exactly is that impersonating Jim Harbaugh?
September 21st, 2019 at 4:05 PM ^
Agreed. The guy on the sidelines is not the guy UM hired. Someone said they thought he changed after meeting the Pope. I don’t know about that but this isn’t the same cocky guy that stepped on toes and pissed people off all the time. He used to know he was better than you and that he was going to beat you. He’s not that guy right now.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:26 PM ^
Yes where has 2015/16 Harbaugh gone? Flags and penalties be damned but I haven't seen a sideline outburst, tired, and really any emotion from him in 2 seasons. This is not the Harbaugh that they hired and paid for.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:31 PM ^
The sideline outbursts and call outs of the officials were almost all correct and appropriate... but did nothing for use but put the team in their crosshairs, which is probably why Jim toned it down (or was told to tone it down).
September 21st, 2019 at 4:32 PM ^
That would make a lot of sense to me... the Pope isn't who people think he is and he's in reality a very bad person.
Maybe Jim has woken up to the reality of this world and has not cared about football anymore..
Maybe people should do a little research into qanon and pizzagate...

Brady Hoke.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:57 PM ^
Hey Jon Jansen, care to elaborate why ZC wasnt the starter and had like 5 carries? As fans we literally get nothing but false reporting from our own reporters. All the changes, injuries, player breakouts, schemes, it's all a lie.
Two 5 star freshmen dont play for us (Hill, Hinton) why? I watch a lot of other games and see fresh all over the field. We have a walk on OLB getting caught inside every play. Why do players get worse coming here? Hudson was a nobody today, same with Hutch and Kemp.
USC's 3rd string qb wrecked a top defense last night in Utah. Florida had they're backup in looking better than Frank's. Peter's looks like a different guy for Illinois. Psu's Clifford was 3rd string last season but looking pretty nice now. What about our QB progression? Can we ever get it?
Michigan is the college version of the Lions. And that's so sad.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:01 PM ^
Well, that's a bit harsh. Michigan is the college version of the Redskins.
September 21st, 2019 at 6:02 PM ^
Michigan is the college version of the Lions. You tune in hoping they won't be who have proved to be, but then they play and show they are a team with no hope of succeeding. It has been this way since Bo passed.
Michigan won't win 7 games this year. If they beat Rutgers, it may be the last home win this year.
The experiment is over. Go get a Mike Leach and blow this thing up.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:01 PM ^
Your first paragraph, stfu. No one cares about fans getting accurate information
the rest of your post, I have similar questions, especially when it comes to QB. But let’s not pretend there’s zero progression of 100% of the players.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:10 PM ^
I'm not saying the fanbase should have inside information to every little detail but we also have like 40 fucking people reporting on Michigan football. Its time to get rid of some of these guys, cancel memberships, ect. They give the fans a false narrative, getting us to believe we can win certain games, progress certain ways. It leads the fans to be more critical when they dont get it on Saturdays
September 21st, 2019 at 4:34 PM ^
Correct... fake news has gotten out of control and people inside Michigan are guilty.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:41 PM ^
Or just watch the product and make your own opinion. How could you watch that army game and think Michigan was going to go in and beat UW in Madison.
I mean, I’m sorry people down vote me all you want, but that game should have been very eye opening. We are not a playoff contender. After today, I’m not sure we are even a big ten contender.
September 21st, 2019 at 6:00 PM ^
I’ll take your comments one step further...I am sure Michigan is not a Big Ten contender. I’ll even upvote you in strong agreement with everything else you said.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:57 PM ^
Miami "handling" OSU right now. If this was a 1 quarter game, Miami might win!
September 21st, 2019 at 4:00 PM ^
The last 6 games we've played, we've looked as terrible as we did under Hoke. I never thought in year 5 that a Harbaugh team would look this disorganized, demoralized, and mismanaged
September 21st, 2019 at 4:08 PM ^
Well that's a weird time span to pick right -but even so that's 3 losses vs Florida, OSU and Wisconsin, all away from AA, and 3 unimpressive wins vs Indiana, MTSU and Army.
Hoke may still be here if we had only lost tough road games vs top 15 teams and bowls under his leadership. People forget he got fired primarily because Minnesota manhandled Michigan in Ann Arbor and they then lost at Rutgers.
September 21st, 2019 at 5:26 PM ^
To be fair, some people try to forget these things...
September 21st, 2019 at 4:21 PM ^

September 21st, 2019 at 4:20 PM ^
I don’t know how people can defend this anymore. Talented players come to Michigan and get worse. This is a poorly coached team that always craps the bed on the national stage.
