Exactly. I'm certain getting assaulted by a helmet to the head won't effect his sleep quality. This is just one of the many steps In the wrong direction post-incident. It obviously won't be the last.

A quote from George Green (Gemon's father) from a Detroit News article in Nov.:

"I ain't slept. Didn't sleep none Saturday. Tried to close my eyes (Sunday) night. All I could see were helmets being swung at my son, trying to harm my son, and I couldn't do nothing to protect him."

But think of poor Mr. Grump's (sic) future!

Exactly, most Michigan fans seem to be over it and just want these kids to learn their lesson, but Sparty player and fans still seem to think they were somehow wronged by charges being filed, they did nothing wrong, and want to use it as motivation. Their inferiority complex is so deep that facing consequences for their own actions is further fuel to hate us more

I'm OK with putting the tunnel incident to bed.  What I'm not OK with is the reports from John U Bacon about sideline personnel who heard the coaching staff for MSU encourage their players to purposefully hurt JJ and Blake.  If that's their attitude when we play them next year, are we going to have some intentional injuries of our key players?

"Aside from Crump, all players suspended from the team following the incident were since reinstated."

Great accountability there. But what you would expect?

I mean, it’s not apples to apples but we have a player being sentenced for a gun possession crime after playing in the CPF so I’m not sure we can saddle up our moral high horse here.

He made a mistake.  A pretty big mistake but hopefully he’s a better person after this.

Enough of tunnel gate.  Sparty is at home watching bowl season on TV where they belong.

Not sure the Green family is ready to move on without some type of settlement.  Their attorney will certainly be looking to tap someone with deep pockets.

But to your point, I think everyone else is ready to move on.

Edit: With the understanding that the relationship has changed.  When players / perhaps even coaches are intentionally attempting to injure or promote injury, that is criminal.  I don't care if it is between the lines or not.  In the same way you might have a friend or family member that has crossed boundaries of conduct or accepted norms, you treat that person differently going forward.  You limit their access, supervise them like a hawk, put additional safeguards in place and be ready to intervene if they show signs of repeating their criminal behavior.

Ok good, was just going to post that link myself actually.

Im glad *someone* is showing contrition.  it is fair to wonder how many people in their football program actually do feel an iota of remorse, given their track record, but this is a welcome and necessary first step, and hopefully this is a rock bottom reckoning for Crump to do better going forward.

Hopefully he gets put on a better path. Pay the price for stupidity and move on.

Dantonio and to a lesser degree Tucker are the individuals truly responsible for creating this insane "hate culture" and trash program that Sparty has become.  We get it - you want UM to take you serious as a rival, but adult coaches and leaders of men putting kids in danger and aiming to hurt players is disgusting.

This is the culture Dantonio created and it's why 2 Tucker wins over UM got him a 10 year - $100mm guaranteed contract despite being a mediocre to bad coach over his entire career. It's also why Tucker looked like a sweaty, angry maniac throughout the game this year, knowing how much it means to Sparty - their Super Bowl

UM and OSU have the most intense of rivalries and there is absolutely no love lost between the two teams.  There are often scuffles on the field and plenty of trash talking.  That said, this actual rivalry, between two great, historic programs, never reaches the lows, pettiness, and violence of what Sparty tries to bring to the UM game.

Why would he focus on the criminal side instead of getting ready for the civil? With general knowledge of what happens to msu criminals and MSU`S staff behavior obviously he saw the writing on the wall. Seeing some of the comments here would`t hurt, either.
