He's literally had multiple offers...that's what you blind loyalists are ignoring.

He's had offers, he's slow-played this process, he's been in no hurry (although now it looks like he could be looking for some security).

It takes two. But everyone blames Warde.

Jim Harbaugh could've signed a contract in the spring, he could've signed in the summer, it wasn't a priority for him.

But that's someone else's fault?

LOL, there are two people on the planet who tell Jim Harbaugh what to do. One's name is Jack and the other has like 5-6 kids by him.

Warde Manuel is neither.

All us blind loyalists are such simpletons, right?  Well, this is pretty simple.  We have a once in a lifetime coach, who has brought the program to the very pinnacle of the sport, and clearly has the rest of the sport including our worst enemies scared to death of him.  There is clearly unlimited money for this particular position, Michigan can outbid the NFL for example.  This is the time where the University/AD should show some humility for once and sign the guy to the deal he wants.

This is not an exercise in getting the right guy at the lowest possible cost.  This is a moment to get the right guy whatever it takes.

No, don't downvote this guy, he's right.  Harbaugh has been stalling this process THIS TIME to get the optimal contract.

BUT HERE'S THE RUB;  The AD should be bending over backwards to give Harbaugh everything he wants, they should be making a deal he can't refuse.  Where in the pantheon of CFB coaches is someone that will 1) fit at michigan, 2)stand up to our rivals, 3)take us to the CFP and maybe a championship.  Nick Saban ain't walking through that door.  Kirby Smart ain't walking through that Door, Urban Meyer, FUCK URBAN MEYER.

Harbaugh took the disrespect after the covid year.  Harbaugh could easily go back to the NFL if he really wanted to.  PAY DAT MAN HIS MONEY /rounders.gif.  The TV contracts are going to be like 70 to 100 million annually, Harbaugh easily deserves 10-15 mil of that. And then pay the fucking players with the rest.

I keep reading how Jim can go back to the NFL but I don’t think that’s true at all. No one has wanted him because if they did he would have been gone already.

I’m going to need people to answer how the above statement is wrong. Guy spent two straight years begging for an offer that never came. Minnesota DID NOT offer.

I think there could be some truth to this, but I think it falls on both Warde and Harbaugh.  The problem is, nobody knows anything because neither party is coming out and saying anything substantive.  Harbaugh talked about a contract a few weeks ago, but it was very basic and almost with a facetious tone in a way.  Warde hasn't said anything about a contract which is where all the frustration with him is growing.  If there is mutual interest on both sides, then why not just come out and say it.  Unfortunately, I don't think there is mutual interest which is why there is some truth in what you have said above.

Yes, this.

I swear this is the 2016 "where are the missing e-mails" PR firm is driving this. The press pieces, even from journalists I usually respect, are going from bad to worse. They are huffing and puffing a nothing-burger (I can't believe I'm using this term) into something actionable.

Remember Mel Tucker did not get fired for sexual assault or harassment, which (and I haven't followed this closely) last I checked had not been established beyond a reasonable doubt.

He was fired, basically, for causing embarrassment. Making the Uni look bad. The fear of taint-- the only thing substantiated, an affair, being something illicit but not normally actionable wrt employment decisions.

Whoever "dropped" this to WSJ --and/or picked it up-- trying to whip up the same kind of hype. Affect morale, etc.

As is "those poor players, whose coach does not have faith in them" line. While acknowledging, all along, that *nothing* has actually linked the actions of the rabid-fanboy-turned-employee to the quirky overtrusting coach.

Yes, I am paranoid. But I've seen this movie producer before, and I don't like the drumbeat. At all.

The closer we get to “The Game” the more I think it’s going to be just like every other game.  We are going to control the line of scrimmage, make big plays, JJ will do anything he wants and the defense is going to choke the life out of them.

We will have the back ups in by the end of the 3rd Quarter.

I am not shocked at all. Since when has the WSJ been the authority on sports in general. It's just another piece of propaganda in this whole smear campaign. I refuse to watch ESPN for much more than games. B1G seems to hate having UM on top just like Columbus and this is the result.

But I just saw that there is a Buckeye Scoops podcast that is solely talking about how they have taken a $100 Million contract off the table for Jim Harbaugh. That fan base is the most scared they have ever been in the history of their program right now. They have a team that is top 5 in the nation and undefeated, yet all they focus on is this weak scandal.  Their best chance of coming out of that game without a loss is if the game is not played.  Go Blue!
