I feel like this has been explained many times but to my understanding, it's mostly the lack of run stopping DTs that necessitated M playing run stopping ends in Paye and Hutchinson which kind of pushed out Uche on some plays, particularly run plays.

It also didn't help that Uche really did struggle against the run for most of his career at UM.  He's an extremely good pass rusher, and to his credit I thought he was stronger against the run toward the end of the year.  But this is also an opinion piece written by a WEEI guy; I'm not sold it's anything more than that.

Glad to hear Josh is doing well so far.  Yeah, it would have been nice to see him get more snaps, but due to the scheme the defense was running a lot of the time, he was more of a role guy.

This staff doesn't really seem interested in adapting to specific, obvious game situations. They're definitely not going to do so for an individual player. See also Gary and to a lesser extent Peppers.

Uche was a 3 star late bloomer. He pretty much was a starter his Senior year. Who was he going to start over before then...Gary, Winovich, Bush, The VIPERS?

I really hope he becomes a pro bowler and certainly Belicheck has that ability to spot guys like John & Chase and make them that, but your clickbait is worse than a Taboola feed.

While I hope Josh gets plenty of playing time, it is conjecture at this point. Belichick has a respect for Michigan's D talent and development which I think is tip of the cap to our Defensive recruiting and coaching. I'm excited to watch these two guys play on Sunday here in New England.  Go Blue!

Reminds me of how Duncan Robinson scored zero points in his final game.  The personalities that find them often aren't the best to mature their game.
