John U. Bacon Becoming Optimistic on Harbaugh Staying

Submitted by EastCoast Esq. on January 13th, 2023 at 11:00 AM

I was 50/50 on whether this is post worthy, but since I get all my Michigan news from this board, figured it was worth it to add this tidbit to the mix.

John U. Bacon followed up on the Santa and Harbaugh reactions by confirming the vibes:

"Sources confirm what seems increasingly apparent: Odds of Harbaugh staying at UM growing by the hour. Not done yet, but looks to be going in that direction."

I think JUB has proven that he has legitimate connections to the Department, so I'm taking this as another significant data point pointing to Harbaugh staying.

I have a Harbaugh policy at home as well. I answer OKCupid ads most weeks, but if it doesn't work out, I come back to my wife.

When asked about it, I comfort her by saying "This won't happen every week" and "No man knows the future, but I expect to still be married to you next year."

So far, it's going great!

I don't see the issue with this post. All those negs really are just mob mentality. There is nothing wrong with speaking the truth for or against the University. It doesn't make you less of a fan to look at things objectively instead of through rose colored glasses.

JH has created instability within this program twice now. He didnt get it done the first couple years of his tenure at Michigan and that is on him. Now that he has beaten OSU twice now, everyone here is ready to sell their child for him to return. Lets not forget that he is 2-5 against our hated rivals.

I think UofM has done a terrible job innovating and assisting Harbaugh with NIL incentives to gather top talent in Ann Arbor so the fact that he threatened to leave last season was understandable... but if you are going to sign a new contract and promise that your flirtations with the NFL are over for good, then stick to your word. If not, you leave coaches and players in limbo.

I really believe that JH is a quirky dude and hasnt connected well with some of the NFL organizations he has interview with. Thus, no job offer, and a reason why he is most likely coming back.

Well written and sincere comment that sums up the way things are. I'll add that Jim created this mess by himself by not closing the door to the NFL some two weeks ago.

This is more about what other coaches in Jim's staff would go with him, stay here or look for another job that is more secure. How many players on the roster would enter the portal and how many recruits would bail out. There are a lot of moving parts to Jim's actions and it's not good. For the sake of the football program, I hope Jim stays and this crap gets done very soon.  We'll have to cross the this bridge again next year but that's in the future. Let's see how this stuff turns out.

Look at it this way... In 2021, we had a great season that was followed by a genuine Harbaugh NFL flirtation. In 2022, we had an even better season that was followed by a half-assed Harbaugh NFL flirtation. Ergo, in 2023 we'll win the National Championship, which will be followed by no Harbaugh NFL flirtation.

It's simple logic, my friend.

I ordered a pizza from Mellow Mushroom the other day. The usual BBQ pork with red peppers and grilled onions.  When I picked it up, there was no pork.  “Sorry sir, we don’t have pork at this location anymore.  Would you like bacon?  Oh, hell yes!

They fried up several strips of thick cut bacon and added it on top of the already cooked pizza.  Made it real easy to nibble on the bacon during the drive home.
