I've met Izzo numerous times. He is classy and a stand up guy. Taking his time out of his schedule to do this is awesome. Just because he is the coach for one of our rivals, doesn't mean he is a bad human being.

It is a rivalry, but Tom Izzo is a great coach who does right by his players and the community. Izzo does not need to show up at the hospital to keep his job - he's doing it for the right reasons, just like Beilein is. No need to smack talk the guy at an event like this. There's any number of snarky things we could say about Roy Williams too, but I'm not saying any of them in this thread.

Great man, great coach. However, as an aside, I do have trouble saying Izzo has class..I mean I know he does most of the time, but his whining and distorting just piss me off.

but if I am calling someone a "class act" I would expect it to be in all areas.  Does he win; yes, does he run a clean program; probably, is he a good coach; yes, does he do good things in the community; yes

But when I look at the way coaches like Beilein conduct themselves on the court vs izzo there is a clear diffference in the two only one of which I would define as a class act.

Havent been back since. Well, when i was 12 my cousin and I used to ride bikes over there from his house in Berkley and oogle the cars in the Doctors parking lot. There was a Testarossa that gave me a funny feeling in my shorts

i have always liked izzo.  as a fellow yooper, he runs a clean program, wins a lot, and he does do stuff like this.

Feel so lucky that he is our guy. While I hate Michigan State and Izzo...I have always had the upmost respect for Izzo and what he has done at State. I think this picture says it all about these guys.

Looks like Beilein has a decent swing.  Nice foward lean and weight transfer, head over the ball, hips and wrists through. Could keep his left arm a little straighter.  I'm betting Beilein has great old man golf game.

I've talked to people who met Izzo. They say he is legitimately a decent person. His personality isn't nearly as offputting as his football counterpart. Izzo seems like a guy you'd like to have  a beer with. Dantonio seems like a guy who would cause you to  mix beer and oxycontin after talking with him.

every single smile, on the coaches, the kids, and the parents seems completely genuine and enthusiastic.  There will be lots of time for Izzo-hate come late-Fall.  Nuthin' now though.  Good on all the guys who went and saw those kids and clearly enjoyed doing it.
