Joe Lunardi's latest post has a message for Michigan fans
I was just looking over Lunardi's latest projections and it starts off with this disclaimer:
And Michigan fans, in case you're panicking right now, the Wolverines do not appear on this page because Joe Lunardi feels they are safely in the field.
Way to punch that ticket boys! Now let's go take out OSU and complete their terrible week!!!

a very special message indeed.
Never underestimate the ability of this fanbase to flood an inbox with messages.
We email well, leaders and the best and all.
Love it.
Even when it comes to flooding sportswriters' email inboxes, we are the leaders and best.
Being a Michigan grad and an Ohio resident I did the only thing I could think of before leaving the office today. I bet everybody (and i do mean everybody) that Michigan would win tomorrow and I told them their shitty week from hell was about to become exponentially shittier.
As someone who grew up in Toledo, I wholeheartedly endorse this action.
...and I love it! Either way, you go into work dancing and that's all that matters!
I wish I had half the guts you have to stick it to the Buckeye cult. Well done sir.
Very Nice Indeed! I have a good feeling about tomorrow....especially after seeing Purdue go down.
Looks like he's placing us in the 10 seed, then.
i think we could be one of his top two 11 seeds. better math people can say for sure.
I suppose that's true. I thought that some of the mid-major conference champions were already cutting into the 12 seeds.
Glad to see us as far away from that play-in game nonsense as possible. His numbers seem a little off (can't really have UTEP and Memphis out since somebody from C-USA is getting an automatic bid) but otherwise it doesn't look like we're in much danger at all considering we almost certainly can't be put lower than teams like Clemson, MSU, Illinois, etc. at this point.
He's only looking at at-large bids. If anything, he should take both of them off the bubble, because there is no way the loser of that game makes the tourney.
can get a little sweeter w/ a W over OSU. Shove that W right up their craw.
Im tired, im hungry how far? Take that Drew Sharp. We are in and possibly ahead of sparty.
for a while now. and certainly since saturdays win.
Can we get up to an 8-9 seed if we win the tourney?
This Rivals bracket had Michigan as an 11 this morning:
http://collegebasketball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1199097
The 9's in that bracket are Missouri, UCLA, Villanova (all made early exits in their conference tourney), and Illinois (who we just beat today). The 10's are Marquette (lower RPI than us and out of Big East tourney), Gonzaga (lower RPI than us and done with season), Georgia (just lost today in SEC quarters), and Tennessee (crappy record and underdog tonight in SEC quarters).
Definitely looks like we could rise quite a bit with wins over OSU and whoever we might play in the finals.
With wins over OSU and say, Wisconsin, I could see us being up as high as a six.
Woah, let's not go nuts. We're maybe a 10 seed right now, a pair of big wins might get us another 2 seed lines. 8 is probably the ceiling and that's assuming we win the BTT.
Nope. If we win the BTT, that means we will have finished the season winning 11 of our last 14 (only losses to OSU, ILL and bank-shot Wisco). It means we finished the season on a 5 game winning streak, beating 4 tournament teams in that stretch, including the #1 team in the country. It means we won the top conference's tournament. We would be HOT and they put a lot of weight into how a team's playing entering the tourney. We'll probably never find out, but I think we'd be a 6 seed.
More importantly, historically the committee seeds teams that go on tournament runs in the major conferences higher than they would normally deserve. I think the Beilein West Virginia Elite Eight team went from bubble to like a six and I don't think they won the Big East tournament, only made the final.
They were 7-9 in the big east, siting right on the bubble and went on a 4 game streak to get to a 5 seed. You make exellent points. We are a 6-7 seed if we beat OSU and Wisky over the weekend. There isn't a lot separating 6-12 seeds. A BTT championship would put us at the front of that group.

And by the way, Fuck UConn.
I agree with all of that - finishing the regular season as well as we did and then win the BTT? I definitely would like 6 at that point. Putting the cart ahead of the horse a bit though.....
I won't relax until I see Michigan in the bracket on Sunday night (or we win the Big 10 tournament). However, at this point, it would really be a screw job if we don't make it.
+1 to all!
Happy Easter Joe Lunardi
Who was that douche doing the color who when the Lunardi screen came up said Michigan is certainly out and spent at least the second half talking about how shitty we are - I had to go mute so I'm sure I missed some good stuff but he was killing me...
I'm not sure who he is, but my roommate and I muted him as well. These guys really only have one job, it would be nice if they actually researched both teams before sitting down and making fools of themselves.
Better than the B1G Network guys. I didn't have to listen to non stop idiotic mid ninties slang
Dan Dakich. Head coach at BGSU for years. Biggest claim to fame: Interim head coach at IU for 7 games when Sampson bit the dust.
Dan Dakich, former Bowling Green coach (and short-lived interim coach at IU). I wouldn't say he was saying how shitty Michigan is, but he seemed pretty off in a few of his opinions/statements, specifically the one where he thought Michigan was out of the tournament because he didn't see us on the Last In/Last Out list. Dan Shulman did seem a little puzzled that Dakich thought we were definitely out coming into the game.
EDIT: Wow, I must have left this tab open for about 15 minutes before replying. Haha, I'm an idiot.
Dan Dakich has one of the worst radio shows on ESPN 1070 AM in Indianapolis. I still have yet to figure out why anyone would want to listen to a former Bowling Green / IU coach for 7 games talk for 3 hours.
the number nine
AH AH AH - I love it!
nevermind
we are in now? We have been in. Now lets take osu out.GO BLUE!!!
Being stuck here in Cleveland, I can not agree more. Kill OSU. Ruin their week and theri lives. GO BLUE
Purdon't just got taken to the shed by sparty.
OSU needed Ot to send NU home.
This BTT is Wide open Ladie and Gents.
Now let's take the next step and stick it to blow-su! I'm pumped about this team and how resilient they've been, especially because of their youth. The future for Michigan basketball is bright!
