shitting on them is what we've done on this blog, week in and out, when discussing actual football performances of some of those folks... (see comments about O'Korn, for example, across many threads and mgoblog articles)

I don't know I feel like shitting on a player's performance during or immediately after a game is sort of more understandable and in the "comes along with the job" territory than doing it years later to make a "thank god we and Jim don't have to suffer with those losers anymore" joke. Like I'm guessing if someone like Shea Patterson frequented this blog he knew just to stay away for a bit after a bad performance. But now on a random Tuesday years later he might open the blog and see this. It's not the end of the world or anything, and he probably wouldn't even care, I just think it's kind of shitty.

I agree with your point. Unfortunately, I did find it really funny.
The sentiment in the video isn't fair to Shea. Shea was good, just not as good as the hype (or the hope).
Peters, O'Korn, McCaffrey, and Milton don't deserve scorn, so hopefully they wouldn't take it quite that way. But it's true that you can't read this in any way other than insulting.
