Jared Wangler visiting today
Potential flip? I would think so. Out of all possible flips, he's the most likely we've seen in a while, IMO. Per Steve Wiltfong, per Jared Wangler's tweet.

Steve Wiltfong says:
"Wangler tells me doesn't plan on making any decisions today."
So I'll check back here at 12:01 EST on 8/9/13 for a "Hello:" post.

I hate revealing my ignorance, but who was the last PSU flip?

Ross Douglas. Looking below you seem to be in a pretty crowded boat on this issue.

Since he said that he had to "talk things over with his family" after the offer, his brother is an incoming walk-on, and Dad is going with him on his visit- he's going to flip. If not today (I exect it), then very soon.

I met him last year along with John and he's a hell of nice kid. The Wangler family (and they bring a LOT of family FWIW) tailgates right behind us in the Blue lot. John's niece sort of adopted my wife and used to come over and hang out at our tailgate. One day she brought her brother and her cousin Jared over and introduced him to our group.
Great kid from a great family. I would be surprised if he didnt flip.

Burn my eyes. I cannot believe that these types of things existed.
Those exact jeans are still hanging in my closet. I won't say how far in the closet. NTTAWWT.
Must be where the White Stripes got their idea for the De Stijl album.
which is why the argument that we should have all the fugly alternate unis "because the kids like them" is ridiculous. Kids don't know fuckall about what looks good. Why? Because they're kids. That's why adults need to be around.
I hear they are coming out with a crotchless pair of jeans...gonna call them Danglers.

bye-bye PSU!

You might want to spell his name correctly; it helps make a kid feel more welcome.
Also, buckle up.

Wanglers!

Yeah I just can't see the kid not flipping. He can stay close to home, play in bowl games and most important, he can play for MICHIGAN!
August 8th, 2013 at 12:28 PM ^
If he's going to flip, I hope he waits until National Signing Day just to screw with Penn State.

It was a joke. If he waited that long, Michigan would probably find someone else before then, anyway.
Were you going to post that it was a joke had not someone said it was "classless" ? C'mon man.
It really shouldn't be necessary, for the reason I stated above.
I like jokes.

Let the buckling commence!
I have the greatest respect for your points of pride, but I don't know if I would want my identity tied to my bra size.
Yes, /s
It worked for Dolly Parton.
am proud of my small breast size. I mean, c'mon, I am not even an A cup. At least not naturally.
False advertising!

Virtually all of the institution picks ("Crystal Ball") for Jared Wangler at 347Sports are flipped to Michigan at this point, with only 3 holdouts. (LINK). They list Mattison as his primary recruiter too.
MaxPreps has at least some of his stats from this past season HERE. It lists 45 tackles (15 solo), as well as 5.5 TFL, 1 sack for 16 yards, an interception and a fumble recovery. Very productive indeed, and looking at Penn State's roster, it seems they'll be losing even more valuable experience at LB after this year, so I can imagine Wangler flipping would sting some.

I almost feel bad for PSU's coaching staff if we flip Wangler, but thems are the breaks...
but they had to have known with his lineage that this could have been an issue at some point. Its not like this is coming out of nowhere...

I'm not trying to troll but this thought just came to my mind- is it not a little hypocritical for a coach to say that players who have committed to play for him cannot visit any other schools but other school's commitments are welcomed with open arms?
No. Other coaches are just as able to recruit out commits and invite them to visit. It's not their fault if the other coaches still consider their guys committed when they clearly aren't.
NOPE
best post of the day.
