Jack Tuttle looking to get a 7th year of eligibility

This is an article from yesterday, but I did not see it posted.

He also said he’d like one more year of college football with the Wolverines.

It’s not out of the question. Tuttle did not play as a true freshman; the 2020 season did not count against any player’s eligibility; and he only appeared in one game in 2022 before getting hurt.

Alan Bowman, a Michigan quarterback in 2021 and 2022, recently announced his waiver for a seventh year was granted. Tuttle said he planned to apply for an additional year.

Tuttle confirmed in Houston that he could play another season. “It depends,” he said with a big smile. “We’ll see what happens. I think I’ll have the opportunity to. It’s still in process. I’m enjoying this moment right now.”

I'd be A-OK with Tuttle coming back, and I think it would alleviate to get a QB from the portal (unless a can't-miss starter becomes available).  He was JJ's primary backup for a reason.  He could be a primate candidate for the Day 1 starter while Jayden Davis gets up to speed.

I'd love to have Tuttle back. Certainly would elevate the floor of the QB room next year. I'd bet he's at least as good as 2021 Cade so we can win with that

Would be a great thing if if he came back … despite the fascination with Orji he has yet to prove he can pass the ball consistently downfield!!! I understand that he may have not been given the chance so he may very well become a good passer … however having a totally new with great potential BUT nonetheless new OL , I would prefer a proven QB that has gotten a lot of in game reps like Tuttle !!!

Yeah, but everybody knows that Michigan's NIL bag offers far fewer bananas than most other programs.

This would be really good.  Of all the guys coming back, I'd be most comfortable with Tuttle being the starter.  I think with our defense next year, and the offensive guys we have, we could win with Tuttle being somewhat of a game-manager guy.  I don't think he's a difference maker like JJ.  But his experience, poise, and leadership would be a big plus.
