An actual game of football will bring 100-times the injury risk of doing a flip.
February 25th, 2015 at 2:06 PM ^
Except how many times have we seen a player be fine during a play, but then get wrecked during the celebration? Stephen Tulloch, Lamarr Houston ... Ted Ginn Jr......

Bill Gramatica remains one of the funnier injuries (if you can find humor in another persons pain I guess). It was just so absurd.

How does that happen?

I love that he's healthy. I love the exuberance. I was paranoid of injury just watching. :(
February 25th, 2015 at 6:09 PM ^
And every time I re-watched it, I didn't get less nervous. Phew, he's OK... phew, he's OK again... phew, no injury that time either...

Braylon did a flip once while while running out of the Victory formation. I still remember seeing Lloyd immediately get him on the sidelines and get in his face. Didn't see Braylon in the Victory formations for some time after that.

Braylon did a full flip in the back of the victory formation of the 2003 OSU game. And, of course, there's the glorious instance of Mario Manningham doing the worm.
Never gets old.February 25th, 2015 at 1:46 PM ^

That was exciting and scary to watch at the same time. Good to see he's healthy, though.

if he can intercept with his feet. A guy died last year doing this celebrating in soccer after scoring a goal.

Very McGuffie-esque.

He's moving around without fear, which is exactly what we want to see.

freak athlete

College football no celebration rule! Scratch that idea!
Still a legit TD celebration for the next level . . .
February 25th, 2015 at 2:12 PM ^
I think we'll take the penalties if we have a safety that scores 25 TDs in 3/4 years
February 25th, 2015 at 2:26 PM ^
Just hope he takes it easy on that. We don't want to spend another season wondering what could've been with him.

There was an injured athlete (Troy Woolfolk maybe?) years ago who had injured a leg/knee and then posted a similar video doing a flip. I remember the MGoBlog nation let out a collective gasp at that one as well.
IIRC he also performed the flip on the sidewalk/cement which is not forgiving.
February 25th, 2015 at 3:07 PM ^
I believe that was actually Blake Countess.

Not sure if this is who you're talking about but Brandon Graham did a standing back flip in a Michigan Replay once (indoors, in socks, fwiw)

with the cheerleaders?

Took care of rehabbing him.

Thankyouverymuch ... Tip your waitress. Try the prime rib.

If he achieves the hype, I would trade that for uncertainty or just good. To be a great team you need great players. If he helps turns things around over the next two years, everything else will take care of itself.

I bet Harbaugh got after him for wasting valuable time.
February 25th, 2015 at 4:41 PM ^
But I could sense Harbaugh as not being crazy about "some freshmen acting out and doing a flip" during practice. Then again, I could see Harbaugh excited about the enthusiasm during the first day of practice.

There is no stopping it.

With everyone else in formation or standing around, it looked like Harbaugh was running a back flip drill.
