I really respect him for signing it right away and getting it over with, not leaving any speculation.  I could see being a high schooler how it would be fun to let it go for a late day event and watch the apocolypse ensue on the message boards.

With all the pressure and often unwanted attention that these kids are subjected to, it amazes me that they don't get bitter by the end of the process and start lashing out.  The 18 year version of me would have been sorely tempted to screw with people.  Luckily, my average size and complete lack of atheletic ability saved me from having to make that choice.

How exciting it is to be getting ready to go off to college, let alone U of M. And I didn't even get to play football in the biggest stadium in the country.

Love this kid, love his commitment, love his passion for the game and Michigan (thumbs up with the winged helmet!), and love his fortitude in the face of what was no doubt quite an onslaught of a lot of people trying to get him to go elsewhere. I haven't been this excited to see a recruit come in for a long time.

He stuck with Michigan through a tough year and ignored all the voices whispering negative things into to his ear.  Hope he can relax now that this all over, enjoy the last few months of high school and get ready to start his college career.

Happy we didn't have much drama with this class despite our mediocre season. Happy these guys committed and didn't really waver much, at least publicly. Glad to have them all on board bc they're coming with a purpose. Now let's get 2015 shored up!

With the letters of Peppers and everyone else, it has been a very nice, drama-free NSD for Michigan, and really, that's how I think these things should be ideally. With that, I would simply like to welcome these players officially to the Michigan family and with them nothing but success both on and off the field while representing the University Of Michigan.

On the lighter side of the news and in no way related to football as such, apparently shower curtains are a hot black market item in Sochi and one guy from SI even had to crawl out of a first-story window to get onto the streetyesterday morning as all the doors at his hotel lock from the inside. The stories coming out of there are pretty amusing, if you've been paying attention.

a kid that understood the process and handled it like an adult. Not because he chose UM but because this is arguably the best HS player in the nation and he liked academics but understands the name on the degree is as important as what the degree is in (even if he goes early, he'll graduate), he sifted through the shady coaches that we're all amazed any 18 year old kid can't see right through, he got the process out of the way early, enjoyed a much more quiet life due to it and stuck to his word despite obviously being neg recruited for almost a year by.....certain schools. UM or not, just great to see a young guy handle recruiting the way he did. "Real knows real" and how some kids believe whatever some scumbag coach says at that age boggles my mind but they all do these days. Kids like him are refreshing as, further, kids merely flock to who is winning. A kid verbals but you have a sub-par year and suddenly they want to look around, yada yada yada. Just refreshing, UM or not. Plus I like people that WANT a challenge, that WANT to not follow the crowd. Glad he's a Wolverine.

And it was TOTALLY worth watching Twitter from 5AM to see LOIs start rolling in, but my heart just about stopped when I saw Jabrill's. The good kind of stopped.

I'll take a kid like Jabrill who is 100% sold on UM over a McDowell who would much rather be somewhere else. Would've loved to have MM but he clearly didn't want to be a Wolverine. A disinterested 5-star is as good as an unranked player in most cases.

Let's take what we have and turn this thing around! It's not as if Sparty has been dropping top 20 recruiting classes annually since 2008. You take what potential you have and polish it. We have plenty of potential! #GoBlue

Strong to "very strong" class, although we are still lagging the folks down south (abd, obviously, the folks way down south).  Peppers seems like the kind of kid who could really make an impact on the character and fight of the team as a whole.  Which would be great.
