It's Game Day! Guess the Score and What is In Your Cup?

Submitted by XM - Mt 1822 on October 15th, 2022 at 7:46 AM

Good Morning All,

Game day in AA.  Michigan is a 7 pt favorite still, which seems a tad high.  I analogize this game to last year's game v. Wisconsin - if we win it, yep, we're pretty good.  If we lose, well, maybe we have some bigger issues to work on.

Two simple questions:

1.  What will be the final score?

2.  What is in your cup this morning?

I won't be able to watch, but will keep track of it on that ESPN 'gametracker'.  And I can't resist posting this link to Dennis Norfleet rocking out to Sandstorm and Atomic Dog 8 yrs ago, in the all-blue uni's, against this very same PSU team.  And a win.

If someone could embed that, would be even better.

Go Blue everyone, have a great day.

It will be our most challenging game yet, but I think we win it by one score. And, as with last year, it will be a victory margin provided by a touchdown from another Michigan tight end:  Mr. Luke Schoonmaker.

Michigan 27

Penn State 20

... Starbucks Italian roast at the moment, but switching to Sam Adams Octoberfest at game time.

31-14 Michigan

Drinking Powerade because my stupid immune system decided not to fight off covid so I'm laying around feeling like dirt.

A win will make me feel much better

34-17 Michigan.

Drinking coffee this morning, but have some Fat Tire waiting for the game along with homemade chicken noodle soup.  Both the wife and I are sorting through the same pathogen the kid gave us (for which he laughs about now).  She has it worse than I do, but the coughing is hard on the throat.  Its decidedly not Covid - several tests for all of us have been clear.

I'm still 42–10 and done with the caffeine, onto the water.

Brian said 32–19 in the preview, which I appreciated as downright rosy optimism from him.

1) No idea. I can’t pick who will win, but because these games have been close the last three years, I’m going to guess 31-24. Game will be decided in the fourth quarter, and probably on a crucial mistake from somebody.

2) Just water for now. I don’t drink before the games anymore, and I never drink during the game unless it’s well in hand. I’ve had instances in the past, back when I used to drink during or before the games, where if the game went sideways, I drank a little more than I should have and let it all affect the rest of my day. Doing that is bad enough when you are sober. But sulking when you’ve had a few just isn’t fun for me. Especially not any fun for those around you, especially when your two year old is wandering around and watching what you do.

No judgment whatsoever to people who drink before or during the game. If you can handle it, go for it! I just don’t do it anymore.

Score guess: 31-21 good guys

Cup - Colombian Excelso Coffee (by Driven coffee)

My son has a travel soccer game starting at 12:30!  Full media blackout: DVR set, phones and all media off at noon, not wearing anything Michigan, etc.

Home by 2:30 and will start the game and watch it live (albeit without having to watch the commercials).
Go Blue!!

Score: Michigan by 7

In my cup: Black coffee

On my plate: scramble eggs, sausage links, wheat toast, crispy hash browns

On my mind: Learning to accept that the change in defense from Don Brown's defend every inch to this NFL bending style defense - that can give up yardage but avoids big plays AND quick scoring plays, conceding FGs.

1. Michigan 27 PSU 17

2. Coffee that will transition to beer after I workout in an hour-ish. Nice assortment of fall beers.

I have a newborn and turned 40 in the last week so big week!

These are the days we wait all year for. Top-10 matchup. Perfect fall weather. Maize Out Big House. In the immortal words of Al Bundy, "Let's rock!"

Got my trusty Chock Full O'Nuts with a dash of Amaretto. Spotted a lonely case of Oberon the other day, so that's on tap for post game. Michigan wins 34-24. Late Moody field goal to cover.

35-17 but the game is closer than that. PSU leads at the half, but doesn't make the same adjustments. Mich takes the lead late in the third and then scores a couple more when their o-line is whipped.

And water.

The sun is shining in the sky
There ain't a cloud in sight
It's stopped raining
Everybody's in the play
And don't you know, it's a beautiful new day
Hey, hey, hey!

Running down the open field
See how the sun shines brightly
In the Bighouse
All the fans where once was pity
Maize & Blue Sky is living here today!
Hey, hey, hey!
