It's The End of World As We Know It - Michigan Monday

Submitted by True Blue in CO on December 7th, 2021 at 4:11 PM

Michigan Monday was posted on The Buckeye Scoop Board last night and it is likely to be our most favorite posting of this column to date by Tony Gerdeman.

https://buckeyescoop.com/michigan-monday-its-the-end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it/

Here are some highlights but it is all worth reading.

  • The Title Is Wonderful
  • "Michigan is no longer a punchline and nobody is laughing."
  • "It’s like this entire season has been one long September for Harbaugh and the Wolverines."
  • "This was no triple for Michigan. They got to third this year by advancing to first base on a passed ball, then were bunted over to second before stealing third. They scrapped, they fought. Things that maybe they weren’t doing before."
  • "For now, Jim Harbaugh is back, and he’s back with a vengeance."
  • "The question is whether or not there is doubt now residing in Columbus."
  • "When the Wolverines beat the Buckeyes nine days ago, a sleeping giant was awakened."

Enjoy!

Tony knows how to write entertaining material.  He was smug about OSU's chances to beat UM and scoffed at McNamara with his buddy Tom Orr.

I'm glad he got to eat a heaping helping (a large Buckeye Scoop) of crow.

My favorite thought:

Wounds this deep don’t heal quickly, especially if Jim Harbaugh keeps sticking his finger down to the bone asking “does it hurt when I do this?”

I didn't know he did Michigan Monday after The Game.  I always thought it was just a preview series that led up to The Game.

Whatever, it is glorious.

He probably gets more than half his readers for Michigan Monday from Michigan fans anyway.  He knows how to work the audience.

Next year's game in the Horseshoe is absolutely critical.  If I was given the  choice to pick whether we win this upcoming playoff, OR, next year's Game I think I'd pick the latter.

It's brought some joy to my heart to see Buckeyes questioning Ryan Day for the first time. Some fans are relying on illnesses or weather ton tell themselves everythings fine, but I think the ones who know anything about the game realize Day got beat up on both sides of the ball, especially on defense which was basically a disaster.

It will be an interesting 2-3 years with Day. Can he keep OSU going at these levels? Or is he gonna be like a David Shaw where eventually it's apparent the guy isn't elite and he was just driving the old guys car

If you don't think Ohio State will stress "being physical" in their upcoming assistant coaching hires and all through spring and summer camp, you're crazy. Ohio State fans and former players will be obsessed with it from now till next November. Gattis made guaranteed that.
Game on.

Buckeye fans forget that what goes up must come down. No program has a forever upward trajectory. None. Some have had extraordinarily long runs, but all things come to an end. Gerdeman's right -- this win of ours changed everything. It turned the world on its axis. It has now made a Michigan win a real possibility by planting a seed of doubt. And you all know where seeds of doubt lead: BPONE.

Screw that ass clown.  Backhanded comments and all.  I hate the Buckeyes with the fire of 10,000 suns.  He likes it when Michigan is up....great for the B1G.....great for the rivalry.  I call insincere, condescending BULLSHIT on that.  I want the Buckeyes to be an unending implosion of shit filled coolers.  A perpetual machine of misery.  Grind them into the turf every year, no close games, nothing but hellfire and bloody damnation raining down on them for ever and ever AMEN.
