Iowa is Dead.....your morning pregame open thread
A brilliant, sunny Go Blue morning here in northwest Ohio. High fived a couple fellow MICH fans that I saw at the park on my somewhat chilly morning run. And Go Blue'd the one OSU fan I saw. But, he wasnt running, was kinda overweight and I think he had been in th park all night. Hey-O!
Iowa is soooooo done like dinner in a few hours
Otherwise, I need a best bet or two for the day, so let me hear them

Best bet? That the chubby buckeye will be eating donuts within the hour......
Dude there are even a few MICH fans who have weight problems. Not cool brah.
November 5th, 2011 at 9:32 AM ^
in my eyes, anyone who is wearing Michigan gear is in tremendous shape
November 5th, 2011 at 9:34 AM ^
well when you look at it that way, I;m in damn good shape.
November 5th, 2011 at 9:35 AM ^
Did you really just join the board to make a stand for political correctness? If so - Bravo sir cause i had NO idea that some Michigan fans had weight issues until you pointed it out. Everyone in Section 3 are toned hardbodies it seems.
November 5th, 2011 at 10:29 AM ^
I agree, the only reason the student section shows up so late to the game is because the showers in the gym are so crowded after our collective morning workout.....jk 12 ounce curls don't make us sweat that bad
November 5th, 2011 at 9:04 AM ^
Despite the 39 degree chill in the downriver area of Metro Detroit, the "M" flag is up, and I did it in maize and blue pajama pants and my alumni association T-shirt.
November 5th, 2011 at 9:21 AM ^
Was it uphill both ways to/from the flagpole?
November 5th, 2011 at 9:23 AM ^
....only because I need to get the drive repaved in the spring.
November 5th, 2011 at 9:23 AM ^
dang, an M tattoo on your "flagpole?" Now THAT must have hurt.
November 5th, 2011 at 9:28 AM ^
The problem is finding someone of low moral caliber to perform the procedure. Other than that, smooth sailing.
November 5th, 2011 at 9:08 AM ^
Wakey Wakey it's gameday baby! Getting ready to go dawn the gameday apparel, and put up the flag!
November 5th, 2011 at 9:41 AM ^
have had all that done before don.
:)
November 5th, 2011 at 10:08 AM ^
I see what you did there... :p
November 5th, 2011 at 9:10 AM ^
Best Bet - Wisconsin -26 over Purdue
November 5th, 2011 at 10:02 AM ^
yep, thats a good one. I also like Stanford -21 and Houston -28.
November 5th, 2011 at 10:40 AM ^
-4 at Iowa. Almost ready to BKF it.
November 5th, 2011 at 9:19 AM ^
November 5th, 2011 at 9:33 AM ^
Does that take into account the standard Oversigning Multiplier as well?
November 5th, 2011 at 9:30 AM ^
time to put on my now lucky michigan shirt which ive worn for every game since the notre dame utl game
Best bet? That these sores on my weenus arn't just going to go away like i've hoped
November 5th, 2011 at 9:37 AM ^
Too much fun at Rick's? That'll always get ya.
November 5th, 2011 at 11:20 AM ^
Elbow sores are the worst! Good thing there aren't any nerve endings there.

How is Urban Meyer still in Alabama for Gameday? He should probably be on the plane to Iowa City
November 5th, 2011 at 9:34 AM ^
based on that thread showing our announcers, Urban Meyer isn't going to Iowa City, so that shouldn't be a big issue.
November 5th, 2011 at 9:36 AM ^
Dave Pasch and Spielman are calling it without him.
November 5th, 2011 at 9:40 AM ^
Sorry bout that! Didn't read that post. Thanks for lettin' me know!
November 5th, 2011 at 9:36 AM ^
SportsCenter see the man cave in Urban Meyer's house? First of all, that room looks incredible. Second of all, he has a big picture of Bo Schembechler hanging up.
November 5th, 2011 at 10:47 AM ^
Didn't see the one of Bo, but I did see one of Woody. OSU fanbase is most likely going to take that as a sign that he is their man.
November 5th, 2011 at 9:41 AM ^
Please don't tell me Spielman is calling the game
November 5th, 2011 at 9:43 AM ^
i won't tell you that
November 5th, 2011 at 10:43 AM ^
a lot of the other douches they have. Do you dislike Herby too? I don't care if they're from Ohio...I think they're both pretty darned good.
November 5th, 2011 at 11:12 AM ^
were you not watching the MSU game with Spielman talking about how great a disciplinarian Dantonio is while Tom Gholston tried to break Denard's neck?
November 5th, 2011 at 9:42 AM ^
But I am still nervous as hell. Got on my 20 year old Michigan Sweatshirt on that I bought from Steve and Barry's, still comfortable but it has shrunk quite a bit around my belly. Damn Dryer!
My man cave dojo is ready to roll.
Best bet, Stevie WIlliams hires a psychiatrist!
November 5th, 2011 at 9:43 AM ^
Another good bet is Oklahoma State -21 over Kansas State. Kansas State only has one loss, but it was by 41 points at home against Oklahoma last week. Kansas State will not be able to stay within 3 tds on the road in a night game against a pumped up Oklahoma State.
November 5th, 2011 at 9:45 AM ^
if you beat Iowa, I just might enjoy the Alabama-LSU game tonight a little bit more. Just sayin' #HALOL
November 5th, 2011 at 9:46 AM ^
Help me out. This will be my first UM game in 3 years I don't get to see live because I have to go to my nephews birthday party. Is it normal to be in a state of hysteria?
November 5th, 2011 at 9:47 AM ^
It's been since 2008 since I've missed one live, so I don't remember. I'm gonna go ahead and say yes
November 5th, 2011 at 9:48 AM ^
Sneak off once in a while. It's just a nephew...
November 5th, 2011 at 9:49 AM ^
If you can find yourself near technology, all may not be lost. If we're talking about someone significantly younger than you and perhaps not quite into football, there is never a better birthday gift than watching Michigan win (hopefully) as it happens.
November 5th, 2011 at 9:51 AM ^
The problem is my wife's side of the family isn't in to sports, so I get chastised for checking my phone for updates. This is the same family who tried to schedule a camping trip during UTL.
November 5th, 2011 at 9:54 AM ^
DURING THE NOTRE DAME GAME? Priorities, man! Set that family straight!
November 5th, 2011 at 9:56 AM ^
them not watching sports, even going camping during UTL. But if it was me, I'd make it VERY CLEAR that I was not going to be joining anyone on a camping trip when Michigan was playing Notre Dame.
November 5th, 2011 at 9:59 AM ^
Stayed home with my old man and watched it. Which, was probably the best time I've had in a long time
November 5th, 2011 at 10:00 AM ^
....but I do the same thing - I set the rules, as strange as they seem to my wife, who is not a sports person like the rest of her family. My family is full of Michigan (and other B1G) alumni and these are huge events. I was painting trim at 6 AM this morning so I wouldn't have to do it at, say, noon.
November 5th, 2011 at 10:54 AM ^
So you painted trim at 6AM and then went put the "M" flag is up in maize and blue pajama pants and my alumni association T-shirt? Busy morning.
November 5th, 2011 at 11:36 AM ^
Redecorating only comes before football in the temporal sense.
November 5th, 2011 at 10:23 AM ^
My sister married that night. Needless to say we were glued to the phones disappointingly for the reception. The entire family made it to the bar for the start of the second half. I have never had for fun being blitzed with my dad and grandma. Best game.
November 5th, 2011 at 10:26 AM ^
from my junior year at Central got married that night too. He is a Notre Dame fan. As for me, I went to the game. And boy did I let him hear about it.
November 5th, 2011 at 10:01 AM ^
I know a guy who can help you out with your family problems ... it isn't cheap, but you won't have to worry about missing games anymore.
