IMPORTANT: ETERNAL VICTORY OVER THE FORCES OF NOODLE
Make it stop
EDIT: Huzzah!
Love it or hate it, the "Noodle" was ONLY inside Michigan Stadium as part of the inaugural W.O.W. Friday (i.e. Gameday Destination). #GoBlue

It'll be a relief when we have better things to talk about. Only 23 hours to go!
August 30th, 2013 at 4:38 PM ^
Something we can all agree on.
August 30th, 2013 at 4:10 PM ^
...you're not so relieved that I hate it, like he does. I don't give a flying fuck what you think of my opinion about the fucking Kraft Macaroni 'n Cheese noodle inside the gates of Michigan Stadium.
W.O.W.
Don't shut up, Buddy. Don't ever shut up.
August 30th, 2013 at 4:15 PM ^
Believe you me, I won't regardless of getting imaginary points taken away.
August 30th, 2013 at 4:32 PM ^
...in fact, not mad and am not melting down. I just don't like being pulled into something this stupid.
August 30th, 2013 at 4:34 PM ^
Your opinions about such things matter, at least to me.
August 30th, 2013 at 4:37 PM ^
...that.
August 30th, 2013 at 5:13 PM ^
the next noodle will parachute into the stadium itself.
August 30th, 2013 at 3:43 PM ^
Two things dude. A Michigan Man doesn't make sexist remarks like that and a Michigan Man prefers tortiglioni over that "Yellow #5 and #6" macaroni.
August 30th, 2013 at 3:44 PM ^
Thank you.
August 30th, 2013 at 3:55 PM ^
A Michigan Man wouldn't get his panties all in a bunch over a noodle either.
August 30th, 2013 at 4:22 PM ^
Don't you ever tell me where my panties should be.
August 30th, 2013 at 5:09 PM ^
Where did the Dude go?!
August 30th, 2013 at 4:23 PM ^
of panties.

^^^ The internet has been won, and we can all go home now.
August 30th, 2013 at 3:49 PM ^
as if there was this great bipartisan split between those who absolutely adored the great noodle of Michigan Stadium and those who loathed it. I'm fairly certain this was more of a case of complete apathy on the one hand and utter abhorrence on the other.
August 30th, 2013 at 4:12 PM ^
+ 1 to you. You nailed it.

I may have updated the thread title.

There has to be some way you can incorporate the victory over noodle into your avatar.
I have a feeling the athletic department has this site bookmarked and monitored and is doing this stuff just to anger everyone on here. That tweet by them is kind of a troll.

Serve you all right for thinking the AD wanted to make like $5,000 for a stupid noodle. Who do you think he is johny football?
August 30th, 2013 at 4:22 PM ^
Was it an ad, artwork, or something else?
August 30th, 2013 at 4:38 PM ^
on a college campus is like offering water to someone who has been lost in a desert for days. From the wide shot of it posted yesterday, the noodle is positioned on the north concourse. With the new rule requiring students to enter at Gate 10, EVERY student will have to pass by it.
EDIT: It is stated above that this was only inside the stadium for the WOW Friday tours and may not be there for the game. Even so, look at the marketing tests DB is doing. Everyone who was at Fan Day this year saw the Good Hands logo on the north upright nets INSIDE Michigan Stadium. It was later reported that the nets will not be adorned with the ad for the football season to keep the policy of no ads inside Michigan Stadium (at least for the football season proper). With these two not-so-subtle examples, there may be a 180-degree shift in that longstanding policy MUCH sooner rather than we think!

MGoShoe's reaction is almost as enjoyable as getting that goddamn noodle off of the grounds.

Since I'm going to relentlessly attempt to gain employment with the Athletic Dept. upon graduating in April, I'll volunteer to be an MGoIlluminati and infiltrate the department to express the majority views of MGoBlog

Next, they'll be installing noodles in the Carillon.

Basically this is how Athletics does things now. It's completely predictable:
1. Push the envelope just a liiiiittle bit in an innocuous way that is both noticeable and a non-competition event. (Allstate goal post nets, giant noodle, etc.)
2. Wait until it inevitably gets noticed and disseminated on the internet
3. Let simmer for 18 to no more than 24 hours
4. Let it slip on Facebook, Twitter, etc. that it was all some kind of misunderstanding, or a one-off, when it obviously wasn't anything of the sort.
They're testing us. And even when we push back, they're going to come back with a bigger mountain of "new traditions" and "revenue streams" to the extent that there will come a point where we won't be able to push back anymore. The future is coming. And it's going to be even tackier than a giant yellow noodle flanked by Marathon and StubHub ads on the stadium concourse.

The maize Field turf with #THICKE on it? 2017 or thereabouts?

This is three times in under a month. I agree with Bando.

I am not sure one should count the seat cushion thing, I know seat cushions are being banned at Candlestick for 49er games, at least. If the NFL is banning seat cushions, there may be some credibility to the AD's story...but I doubt it.

As of 7pm, the noodle is still at Michigan Stadium. And in person, it is ginormous.
August 30th, 2013 at 7:48 PM ^
A noodle that big, if it doesn't want to move... how are you going to make it move?
I'm thinking Brandon didn't think of this when he agreed to allow The Noodle to come in.

And unfortunately, that makes us Troy.
