As I watch the game on Big Ten Network, I am left to wonder

As I watch the game on Big Ten Network, I am left to wonder whether the Big Ten Network thought 5 of every six ads during Football Saturdays would be ads by the member schools with the occasionaly Ro-Tel/Velveeta ad??? Seriously. No one else willing to pay for advertising on this network?

Almost thought I had an out there .... He's got to do his reading/homework today. Sadly, I was over-ruled by my wife. Good episode of "The Penguins of Madagascar", though.

F your life. That is an unacceptable situation that your are required to remedy before the next game. Seriously. I am not kidding. Overruled by the wife so your kid can watch a show about F'ing penguins? And the kid is old enough to read and write? Teach the kid a lesson in patience for 3 damn hours, and if your wife protests, you overrule her.

I was just getting sick of commercials ending and then cutting back to the game mid play, or the terrible camera angles that caused me to miss most of what was happening. I couldn't take much more.

My god, that announcing was terrible: 1. They totally missed DEATH ROH's interception off the tip. Now, I'll give them that it was hard to see initially if he caught it or not, but he did, the refs said he did, and then Michigan got the ball there. Not once did they use the word "interception". They even claimed that Eastern "failed to convert on 4th down" a bit later. 2. On the next drive they said EMU was "hanging in there, down by 11". EMU was down by 21, which is "trying to cover the spread", not "hanging in there". 3. Their "defensive stop of the game" showed two plays from Michigan's goal-line stand in the third quarter - the first, the gang tackle for a loss on 3rd and 2 (which was indeed an excellent play), and the second, the 4th-and-goal attempt that failed in spite of Clowncar Cissoko turning the wrong way and falling down. Nothing says "defensive stop of the game" like "good thing the offense didn't execute". Sheesh.

I actually liked the announcing. I also liked the way the BTN broadcasted the game. It was a nice change of pace from the constant commercial breaks I see on ESPN and NBC. There were fewer commercials in this game by far.

Last year during basketball season, the BTN was running ads for MarquisJet at one point. Lest anyone be unfamiliar with their product, they sell time in private jets in 25-hour blocks. The base price for one 25-hour block is $132,000. Then they probably showed a RO-TEL ad, I can't remember. Also I need a chili pepper font.

Watching MSU-ND on NBC, with its four-minute commercial breaks, unhelpful graphics (how many timeouts did each team have? They wouldn't tell us), cheesy personal-interest stories about ND players, and Tom Hammond, left me thankful we were on the BTN today.
