HTTV Kickstarter coming soon?

Did I miss it or is the HTTV kickstarter coming soon? Normally I have the digital version by the 4th of July, but I recognize things have been slightly off this last year (Yes, that’s sarcasm ?).

It's massively delayed because we lost one of the main writers and one of the other main writers needs to get on the ball.

Have you guys ever considered releasing some of the research/interviews done for HTTV as part of a premium subscription?

I have always wondered what else you guys have pulled together and I think there would be a market for some type of monetized tier (No ads, HTTV, and supporting material)

You wouldn't believe it. Sieging a castle just like every other day, getting ready to approach, figure we're far enough away from their archers and waiting for the volley to end, getting myself pumped up. Out of nowhere- arrow to the knee.

OP give them a break.  Only so many hours in the day and right now their #1 priority is to make sure the coveted Draftegeddon gets completed on time.

Seriously though - that thing is a major source of income for the blog.  I'm pretty sure they want it out a LOT, LOT, LOT more than you do.

While I agree with a lot of what you say mGrowOld, when Seth makes the comment of, "and one of the other main writers needs to get on the ball" on a random users blog post, I don't know if they want it out a LOT LOT LOT more then the OP does.

Though I might not have argued with only two LOT's, the third seemed a bit excessive.

Seriously though - I think the football team has killed the passion of everyone, including Brian, and it is showing on the blog. The fact that we have commits that haven't even been recognized on the front page is the best example I can come up with. (it'll all be worth it though with Draftageddon!)

You're not wrong IMO.  And you know where else I think it's showing?  Ticket sales.  The fact that the University is sending out three game ticket packages where someone could by eight tickets together for either Washington or OSU tells me they've got a BIG problem right now they're trying to solve.  Feels a lot of the 2014 season in that way.

I was very surprised that when I got one today I could still order 2 tickets to each of those 3 game deals. I could go to Ohio State, Western Michigan, and Indiana for less than $600 for two adults. That’s crazy. There have been a few years it would have been half that for just Indiana. I could not believe that I could still get tickets that easy. Not sure what the covid rules are going to be so I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I imagine I’ll still be able to get OSU tickets for cheap even a month or so from now.

In fairness it’s going to be tough to write this year. Huge unknowns on the defense. An offense that remains inexplicably incoherent. No spring game to glean anything from. Inexperience at a few key positions. Coming off a weird 2-4 Covid year. Head coach on a weird buyout reduced contract extension. Might as well just be a picture of Brian and Seth shrugging. And some stuff about old things with Craig Ross

As I've gotten older, I've learned to appreciate soccer. 45+ minutes of sports uninterrupted by commercials is a good thing. That said, there are still some things that bug me.

  • The flopping. But then I think, how would I feel if I was running full speed and some guy tripped me.
  • In bounds plays. These are worse than Beilein's early Michigan teams. There'll be a guy wide open, the in-bounds guy completely ignores him, tries to chuck a ball to a guy who is completely covered, and they lose possession.
  • Teams that don't value possession. It's like watching American football teams punt on first down.
  • The rules, part I. I just saw a Swede kick the ball, a Ukrainer came in late, and I thought the Ukraine guy was going to get a penalty for a late tackle. NO. The Swede followed through his kick with his cleats up and drove his cleat through the Ukrainian's tibia. Apparently, that is a red card.
  • The rules, part II. If a guy gets a penalty in the box, he gets a free shot at the goalie from 12 yards away. No matter that the penalty was just barely inside the box. The reward far outweighs the penalty. It's like if in baseball, you'd get a home run for being hit by a pitch, or in basketball, getting 7 free throws after being fouled on a jumper.
