Hello to Tyrece Woods out of Belleville.
Three star DE, national rank is 2087 and 56th in the state of Michigan. He is currently a DE but some in the previous thread believe he could grow into a defensive tackle position.
Could be a sleeper, could be a dud, all I know is that if Mattison and Don Brown haven’t earned your trust when it comes to evaluating talent then that’s on you.

When this offer went out, I believe Sam Webb also stated that he will be a future DT. As a DT, he's not a bad get. Though I wish Michigan could have waited to see if they could have flipped Mike Morris (listed as SDE but I think he'll grow into a DT ala Carlo Kemp) or maybe get Jeffrey M'ba. Hopefully his senior season shows a lot of tape that indicates why Michigan offered at their DT camp.

The kid is playing on offense and looks very athletic in the very short summer 7 on 7 highlights. Could see him at FB/H-back as well.

Not necessarily. Given the DL depth, the fact that he needs to add some weight to play DT, and the new rules, it seems like a redshirt is highly likely. So if he moved to FB, it’d either be with Mason as a senior, or after Mason graduates if Woods found that the path playing time blocked. I’d be surprised if Woods was a FB from Day 1 — seems more like a fallback option if he can’t get to the size requirements of a 3-Tech.

I really like his inside rip. Seems like you could add some counter moves to his basic 2 and make this dude deadly. I like his attitude, the angles he likes to slash into the backfield, and the way he finishes plays. He’s also got a tomahawk chop that will create turnovers. Fantastic pick up, Go Blue!

I'm in your camp. A couple months ago, when he first appeared on the radar, I was very surprised that he was rated so lowly-given his tape. IMO Michigan needs more of these very high motor kids mixed into to their more elite, physically gifted list of recruits. He fits the high character model JH clearly values...and me too.

This will be a good pickup. Kid is a huge athlete who can play DT DE FB and TE. He was also a little league teammate of Justin Rogers and Sam Johnson.

The guy has put on 30lbs from 225 to 255 while still running a 4.65 fourty and a 4.2 shuttles. When sites start evaluating him as a strong side end/dt he will move way up the rankings. Those times are rediculous for the position he will play in college.

Love that Harbaugh and Company are starting to get into Belleville more. Coach Crowell is starting to pump up some talent and it's good to get in there as its starting to turn to a really good school with a lot of D1 prospects

I'm just sayin January 2019 me from the future is super annoyed after we win the B10 and make the playoffs and all the 5 stars want to be Wolverines but we don't have room in the class. Say what you want about Brown and Mattison's eye for talent, but we don't need to be stealing recruits from Bowling Green and Cincinnati in August.

This is such a ridiculous argument because I’m sure you and others would be in here screaming to the rafters about Michigan not getting the cream of the instate talent if, after this kid’s senior season when more programs take interest, he went to MSU or Wisconsin.
Coach Mattison has earned the right to decide which DLinemen he feels have what it takes to be elite, as has Coach Brown and ultimately Coach Harbaugh.
All you guys do is shit on everyone and everything, act all smug, and when you turn out to be wrong, never have the sack to offer up anything resembling an apology.
