Nice!  Long snappers are important, as we well know.  Good to have one of this caliber - Kornblue does a good job with all the special teams positions.

I don't know who Rubio is, but Marco doesn't seem like the football-y type to me, so it's probably not him...

The first game I took my son to Michigan had a big halftime lead then blew it in the second half to Illinois. Tom Brady was leading the team down the field and the center snapped it over his head leading to a long 4th down which they didn’t convert. The center/long snapper position is extremely important and the exchange is taken for granted.

Yes, a PWO.

Long snappers are worth a scholarship, but I think you let them get to campus and sort it out. Offering a four-year scholarship to a long snapper is a bad move, IMO. Scholarship players at other positions get beaten out by walk-ons all the time, so why waste a four-year scholarship at a position (long snapper) where that guy literally can't contribute elsewhere. If your linebacker gets beaten out by a walk-on, at least the scholarship guy can play special teams or be a backup. If your LS gets beaten out by a walk-on...there's a scholarship standing on the sideline for a whole season.

I’d prefer to take a walk-on at the position and let him earn a scholarship down the line if one is available. Looking at our kicker/punter situation, our walk-ons have been just as good, if not better, than our scholarship players. You can get high quality players at positions like that to walk-on.

I am glad to see all the reports of 2021 recruits having very good visits...but the point is to get commitments!!! Please, let the fireworks begin!!!

Long snappers are like safeties -- it's good when they're not noticed: it means they're not making critical mistakes.

I wonder how many missed PAT and FG are really on the long snapper?  I realize it's the duty of the holder to receive the ball and place it, but I wonder how much a poor snap translates to a poor place?  Any holders here who can shed insight on that?

Good receivers can overcome an imperfect pass, though there comes a point the pass becomes uncatchable. I'm sure the long snap is similar: a good holder can overcome minor issues, but a really poor snap is going to be a problem.

Consistency may be the key -- a holder can get used to consistent flaws, but erratic snapping may becomes a problem. As you say, a great snapper delivers to the same spot, time after time.

If I could do it all over again I am focusing on long snapper. Tarr gets to be on a division 1 football team while going to school, when he plays he can't be touched, and once he gets his degree and uses up his eligibility he can go pro where he could have a long career making a killing... and not getting touched.

Important (albeit underrated) position.  Good get and congrats Mr. Tarr.

Now we just need to find the next Garrett Moore's to hold his snaps.
