Hooray!
November 25th, 2013 at 4:57 PM ^
That's great news. Young tackle prospect with a ton of potential.
It looks like he's a kid who could figure into the 5 Star discussion (at least early on)...
November 25th, 2013 at 4:57 PM ^
Do they still come in pairs? It's been so long since we had good news I don't remember anything.
November 25th, 2013 at 4:58 PM ^

November 25th, 2013 at 5:11 PM ^
Swenson was the commit watch from last night. Pretty good start to the 2016 class. Could be the top OL in the midwest.
November 25th, 2013 at 5:18 PM ^
a very highly recruited guy yes, that hoke will turn into a turnstile
November 25th, 2013 at 5:18 PM ^
Congratulations on a wonderful decision
November 25th, 2013 at 5:19 PM ^
Where is the guy that was giving Coach Brown shit last night? I bet he avoids this thread
November 25th, 2013 at 5:21 PM ^
*mind blown*
November 25th, 2013 at 6:00 PM ^
His Dudeness talks s*** about everyone.
November 25th, 2013 at 5:29 PM ^
Welcome to the Michigan family!
November 25th, 2013 at 5:29 PM ^
I'm sorry but why are we excited this kid's commitment? Under this current staff, he has just thrown away his entire future. As an alum, i love Michigan Football with all my being, but I would not wish the developmental prowess of Hoke and staff on any high school student.
November 25th, 2013 at 5:38 PM ^
I'd say nobody who goes to Michigan throws away their future.
November 25th, 2013 at 7:05 PM ^
Other guy is not a Michigan man!
November 25th, 2013 at 6:02 PM ^
Pathetic
November 25th, 2013 at 6:34 PM ^
I guess your diploma is worthless and you threw your whole life away.
November 25th, 2013 at 7:04 PM ^
Turn back in your Alum card. As an alum I find your comments repulsive.
November 25th, 2013 at 7:30 PM ^
U of M gives it's students a first class education. I wouldn't be starting medical school next year without the education I received there. What meant by throwing his future away was strictly football related. I'm glad that any recruit chooses to play for Michigan but with the current staff , any recruit who choses to come here should not expect to be developed into an NFL worthy prospect.
November 25th, 2013 at 7:50 PM ^
Dude, go away. Not developing talent, please. The seniors and juniors just haven't been very good and you can't put that stamp on the coaching staff. You can only do so much with guys that were meant for a system that's a 180 from what we currently are trying to run. The sophomore and freshmen classes have really shown a glimmer of hope in this dark time. Stop being that prick.
You want to encourage kids to come here (not in creepy twitter stalker way but saying welcome on a message board and what not).
Even if the not developing meme is true and the coaches do end up getting the boot someday, I sure as hell don't want another cupboard empty situation for the next guy. USC is a great example. Kiffin couldn't coach a lick but he recruited his ass off. The next guy that walks in there has everything he needs. So if your opinion is true about the coaching, then you better be rooting for them to recruit like crazy because I don't want to do the cupboard empty bs again.this was all kind of discussed in the visitor thread and the don't boo your team thread. Just because your pissed at the coaches doesn't mean you need to ruin a kids experience or piss on someone's big moment.
November 25th, 2013 at 7:59 PM ^
I love Michigan and my time there was the best 4 years of my life. Yet if I had a kid who was getting scholarships from major programs, at this point I'd tell him to stay far away from U of M if he had nfl aspirations especially if he was on the offensive side of the ball.
I'm not trying to ruin Swenson's experience or belittle his decision. Just expressing the point that until major changes are made (not necessarily Hoke but at the very least Borges, Funk, and Jackson) there is no point in getting excited over a commitment as they will not be developed and will never reach their full potential.
November 25th, 2013 at 8:49 PM ^
Attending community college in Michigan does not make one a Michigan graduate, FYI...
November 25th, 2013 at 11:23 PM ^
I'd be more than happy to show it
November 25th, 2013 at 8:50 PM ^
yet you say you'd tell your own son to go to school elsewhere.
November 25th, 2013 at 11:21 PM ^
And the current staff were still place then absolutely, and that's especially true if my kid was an o-line men. I love Michigan and wouldn't trade the time I spent in AA for anything, but you have to do what's best for your kid and what they want. If you need evidence of that then simply at McCray Sr. Is he a bad father because he let his son sign with his school's biggest rival? No he let his son make the decision that he thought was BEST for him. No one can argue that given nfl aspirations a kid should probably sign with Bama, lsu, or say Stanford before they signed with us. That doesn't make me less of a Michigan fan it's just doing what's best for your own kid
November 25th, 2013 at 9:53 PM ^
Worst dad of the year award. This is his dream friggin school!! It produces hordes of nfl talent. It is a legendary program. And now you (with no apparent son on scholarship) are offering this safe advice as a loyal u of m? What is wrong with you? Should he go to Iowa bc they beat us? Or should he go to Texas a&am bc it is super awesome and has a heisman winner there? Or maybe all of your progeny should only go to Alabama, where every player is guaranteed an NFL career despite wanting to go the true school of there dreams. Please take a break. We get it, you want Borges and funk fired. So do some of the rest of us. But my god, this is a huge get for us...we still got it and have a chance at retaining kids like this. If we so, we will always be in the conversation. You talk like we are a Mac school.
November 25th, 2013 at 11:01 PM ^
When is the last year we had more then 1 first round pick?
November 25th, 2013 at 8:52 PM ^
Which medical school?
November 25th, 2013 at 9:46 PM ^
It's a near certainty several of the other fr and soph lineman will play in the nfl too. Why would you say something so inaccurate and stupid on a Michigan board? This is a five star recruit basically coming in two years. It's a pretty awesome leap of faith in out brand and a vote of confidence for what we are doing , despite the growing pains. The same guys you think blow this year and are throwing under the bus are going to be upper class men when this dude comes in. We might actually be good with a qb, veteran rb, line and WrS that fit the system. We might even have a new offensive coordinator, line coach and qb coach. Just don't get your point of posting this. Feel like guys like you are a bunch of puppy punchers. Some of you need to choke back your cynicism and just come back next year. It's okay we still family, just leave the table for a bit and come back when your calm down and rationale.
November 25th, 2013 at 10:58 PM ^
Lewan was a top 12 lock last year. He is not top 12 this year. I'm not saying that has anything to do with development but Lewan 12' > Lewan 13'
November 26th, 2013 at 12:11 AM ^
But he is first round and wait for the draft. I just don't get the sit in a circle and shoot eachother routine?
November 25th, 2013 at 10:30 PM ^
just joined today. That you're here posing as a Michigan fan speaks volumes about how you view your own team.
November 25th, 2013 at 5:31 PM ^
Welcome to the Michigan family! Go Blue!
