Harbaugh hires Don Yee as agent per Schefter [Ed: Months ago, this was a news drop]

[Ed: As reporters quickly pointed out, Harbaugh enlisted Yee months ago. The reason you're hearing about it on the eve of the Playoff is Pete Thamel thought it could hurt Michigan to drop a Harbaugh-NFL rumor today. It's embarrassing for Schefter that he let his name be attached to it. --Seth]

What’s the solution to this? Ryan Day’s desperation turned into a media mob against Harbaugh and Michigan and UM does nothing to fight back against them like telling ESPN to stop, preventing Gameday from coming, etc.  basically the weak UM leadership confirmed everyone who picked on them’s beliefs that you can pick on us without any retaliation.

This was reported and rumored a couple weeks ago by some of the anonymously connected Twitter accounts. Yee has been involved in the Michigan contract talks, and he is Tom Brady's agent.

This isn't news, apart from Thamel trying to make it news.

I hope Michigan can win a championship before he leaves, at least. Go out on top!

Edit: Wait, is Yee the agent that helped with the contract talks at Michigan? If so, then this actually might be good news (Granted, if he’s been hired for a while like everyone has said….)

If he's trying to leverage Michigan for more money, this is a good move. If he's trying to go to the NFL, this is a good move. It doesn't really lean one way or the other IMO.

Of course it was a few weeks ago.

Gotta get that gay apparel before the holiday.

Edit: (Feeling his dad joke was not appreciated enough even for the appropriate eye roll, he doubles down).

Get it? Don Yee now our gay apparel.

Come on man. When was the last time an assistant got elevated to HC on less than 24 hours notice, before the biggest away game of the year, in a way that was CLEARLY the conference trying to sabotage your whole season? Sherrone was put in a situation that I truly think was unprecedented in the entire history of CFB. I don't blame him one bit. Besides, he was perfectly composed against OSU and Maryland.

This is an awful take. The entire program had been going through it for an entire season and Sherrone was shoved into the spotlight on less than 24 hours notice. The biggest moment of his career (to date), against a quality opponent, with all eyes on him, and we saw all those stressors come pouring out.

I (and I think I can speak for many) loved the emotion he showed in that moment. Some guys stick a whistle in their mouth and jump around in a circle, while others care so deeply about the mission and the program that they’re moved to tears upon realizing some success. Give me the guy that cares every time.  The leadership and poise he demonstrated during that stretch will forever be ingrained in this teams story, and the fact that he was so emotional about it makes me respect him even more.

I am very high on Sherrone. I love the way he carries himself (including, and especially, the post game interview after PSU), the players really like him and the offense under him has been good. But, I’m not ready to say that he is ready to be the HC at Michigan. Keep in mind that there is a huge difference between subbing in as the HC on gameday for a program that is being run by HC Harbaugh all week, where Harbaugh had full input with the players and coaches all week, and where Harbaugh has built the structure of the program over the past several years. What Sherrone did certainly can’t be diminished or overlooked, but that doesn’t mean that he is ready to take over as full time HC.
Note: I am not saying that Sherrone won’t one day be a great HC, or even that he isn’t ready now. I am just saying that the fact that our dominant team won with him as game day coach does not by itself mean that he IS ready now.

Is it me or are there a lot of external factors trying to pressure us this year? Any idea why they don’t want “America’s team” to win (other than money)??

Obviously he's got an agent, he's negotiating a contract extension with Michigan. I doubt he's been doing that on his own. A nothing burger until it's actually something. ESPECIALLY coming from an NFL mouthpiece on a night when they're undoubtedly getting drilled with criticism for the end of the Dallas/Detroit game.

That’s not true. Harbaugh doesn’t typically retain an agent year round, but he has always hired one to handle his contract talks. With all the back and forth and legal jargon involved in contracts, it would be silly to not have a lawyer or agent involved in the process. Especially when those negotiations are going on during the season.

Harbaugh is going to try to get an NFL job but I think there are too many good assistance who will beat Harbaugh out of these jobs. We may have to wait until March before Harbaugh signs the Michigan contract offered to him.

I can see Harbaugh to the Chargers and I can also see them wanting Harbaugh, who's been a proven winner at every destination.  And add in the fact that they are already set up to win now, t's an attractive situation for someone who's had the itch to get back to the NFL each year.
