UM 31-17.  Defense scores once.  Shea is cool and calm.

31-17

We go into half up 24-7 and sit on them. First half offense looks a lot like a Patriots-style passing spread - Gentry flexed in the slot and wide, short passing game supplants some of the running game - with some sparse but effective power running behind the Big Big Boys mixed in. Shea throws for 200 in the first half.

Wisconsin can't play from behind, and Higdon breaks a long one to ice it in the second half.

24-21 Wisconsin

Turnovers and ST fuckups.

I have two degrees from Michigan but spent about 10x more on tuition etc for my daughter the Badger, who turned down Michigan in favor of Madison.

I dunno what to think. Wisconsin is usually scary, but their defense looks to be rough this year. Their offense is good, but our defense is better. I think our offense vs. their D makes the difference

Michigan 27-14

34-20 Michigan.

We get up big at half and play slog ball for the second half with a couple of 7+ minute drives featuring multiple FBs.

Michigan 35-10

Higdon breaks 100 yards, but only due to a late big gain.

Pick 6 by the defense

Bench scores the other 4 touchdowns for us in short yardage situations, causing Seth to put an Al Bundy face on him for the next FFFF.

27-10 Wisco. Reality comes calling. We aren't who we hoped to be based on results against inferior teams. Unfortunately, Wisconsin is who we feared they would be. Wakey, wakey, hands off Jakey.

20-16 U of M

Mason scores 2 Goal line TDs. Wiscy gets ball with under 2 min left, but Hornibrook gets hit as he throwing by Winovich and L Hill picks it off to seal it.

Michigan 24 - Wisconsin 20

A lot like the 2016 game wherein it's close throughout and while Wisconsin has a chance to pull ahead multiple times, they never quite do.

Over 125 for Taylor on the ground

2 TDs for Patterson

56-28 Mich. This will be an 8 drive game - Hornibrook and Taylor are really good and will get their points while running the clock but I just cannot see the Wisc defense slowing down our offense at all. Edwards/Connelly are fantastic but they have to choose their poison between Higdon/Evans, Gentry, or DPJ/Collins/Perry/Bell. Rest of that defense is pure trash - Dixon and Van Ginkel are hurt and Sagapolu is overrated. Good luck!

Total yards Michigan 615 Wisconsin 390

No fumbles/INTs in this game for either team

Wisc will turn the ball over on 4th down once, punt twice inside Mich territory, and punt once from their own goal line.

You think Michigan will put up the most yardage since 2016 Maryland against a Wisconsin defense?

Even a against a depleted Wisconsin defense, you think Michigan will average 75+ yards/drive and score every time?

Unless you're including kick/punt returns in total yardage, I know pot is legal in AA but dude, put the blunt down.

Did I stutter? I made it clear what I think. Michigan will score on all 8 drives vs. Wisc. This is a Wisconsin defense that has been decimated by both injury and poor recruiting. Chryst lived off of Andersen's defensive recruits. See: Sheehy, James, Obasih, Dooley, Jacobs, Tindal, Nelson, Jamerson. He is off to fend on his own now.

I am not including kick/punt returns in total yardage. Michigan will drive the field every. Single. Possession.

Hard to "drive the field" every single time and average over 75 yards/drive when Wisconsin "punts from their own goal line" with a punter who averages 40 air yards/punt with a 35 net.

Basically means Michigan will have to average over 80 yards/drive if they get Wisconsin to punt from their own goal line. So each kick return doesn't make it past the 20?

Michigan didn't even accomplish that against Maryland, whose defense is ranked similarly and is less disciplined (more athletic though).

Edwards was a 2-star recruit. Connolly wasn't even ranked. Van Ginkel was a 3 star as a JUCO transfer. Point being, Wisconsin has never relied on high ranked recruits on the defensive side of the ball. The names you brought up who were recruited by Andersen were almost all 3 stars as well so there hasn't been this huge drop off.

I only have one punt from Wisconsin's goal line - the other 3 stalled drives are 2 punts in Mich territory/midfield and a turnover on downs in Mich territory. Chryst is a very conservative coach and likes to punt on anything longer than 4th and 2 regardless of field position (unless they are in FG range).

Yes I get that Wisconsin is a strong player development program, which is why they can rely on JRs and SRs to play well but that defense recruited poorly in the 15 and 16 classes which is why they have no impact upperclassmen besides the ones you named (and Dixon/Sagapolu). All of their other impact players - Nelson, Hicks, Lyles, Henningsen etc. are all freshmen....that is a problem.

31-17 Michigan I think the defense slows down Taylor enough and Shea plays well through the air that running lanes open. Go Blue!

27 - 17 - Shea looks good and throws 3 tds but we get stopped on short 4th downs twice while running slow developing Higdon runs instead of just bashing inside with Mason.

Defense looks really good early but Wisconsin's OLine wears them down and Wisconsin scores 14 in the 4th to make it look closer than it really was. Taylor gets over 100 yards but takes 27 carries to do it. Hornibrook throws 2 ints.

Overall, a comfortable win with some definite things to work on.

27- 14 Michigan. Taylor runs rampant for first quarter and 1/3 defense adjusts as expected. Shea scores one on the ground to ice the game in the 4th

26-16 in a game that at times seems "as frightening as" and ends up seeming more like "can sleep soundly about."

I shall cackle with knowing glee when I'm right.

31-17 M after going in to half behind 17-14. Higdon runs for 80, Evans plays and breaks an 80 yarder for a TD.

Defense scores one TD.
