Did you call?
I could totally see myself doing something like that if skype had existed 3 decades ago.
April 18th, 2014 at 10:55 AM ^
Agree! I would like to see the Wings make it to the second round.

Congrats. I'm not too far ahead of you, but man these posbangs sure bump your point total up fast.

because we all know what wonderful things you can do with your MGoBlog points.
Yeah, can someone posbang me to 3000 points, please? You gotta get a free t-shirt or something for that, right? right? (crickets...)

Made it to 3K! You can just call me ST3K from now on...
EDIT: almost forgot to thank you guys. I couldn't have done it without you.
Posbanging, on the other hand, is strongly encouraged!

What will you be sipping on?
Just picked up a Caol Ila last night, but it's not as good as I remembered. More tests are needed.

This weekend, possibly beginning with today if I can find the motivation, will be spent planning the vegetable garden that my daughter seems to want to start. We will actually sit down with some guides on things that will grow well in southeastern Michigan and I will let her select the veggies as well. I might tack on some that aren't fast-maturing so I can have a personal project, but in the case of my daughter, I an going to shoot for stuff that she can harvest relatively quickly (which, for some edible plants, is 60 days or so) so we can maximize the accomplishment here.
My other projected accomplishments are, as usual, sports, grilling and drinking with various family events built around that since it is a holiday weekend.

planning to start my first vegetable garden this spring - can you point me in the direction of the southeastern michigan specific stuff? so far i've been reading general stuff and i'm afraid what i'm learning won't apply in this climate. good luck with the project!
Is it OK to plant outside yet? I have some herbs/veggies in pots indoors that I picked up at a farmer's market last weekend, but the Monday/Tuesday cold snap made me spooked to put them in the ground.
Edit: This website says the last frost in Grand Rapids is usually around May 16... so I think I'll wait a weekend or two. My daughter would be pretty upset if she helped me plant things and then they all died.
have cold weather that will kill the plants and you would be forced to start over. I haven't had a garden in years but my dad never planted before Memorial Day and he grew up on a farm.
Of course if it's small enough and you plan ahead, you can cover the plants if it gets too cold.
corn in may, at least up here anyway. corn planting b/w may 5th and may 25th. i put my oats in last weekend in april last year.
taught me a lot about gardening. He almost always had peas in the ground by April 1st, followed soon after by cabbage, broccoli, and/or cauliflower. Most of the other stuff had to wait until early-to-mid May in the GR area, later yet the further north one lives.
will happen up here, will task some of my sons with that. however, there is no way that happens before mid-late may, especially with the global warming 100 yr winter we've had up here this year.

Let's go Red Wings.

I'm not actually gonna practice, I'm going into policy stuff. Getting a masters at SNRE as well. I think I'll be ok.
I have always said that if I won the lottery one of the things I would do is go to law school. All of my attorney friends said, "no, don't!"
