That's great!
(would gladly trade a Herbie for fewer turnovers and Gardner oh-noes)
December 18th, 2014 at 7:16 PM ^
You should go outside and play hide and go fuck yourself.
December 18th, 2014 at 7:50 PM ^
I've seen some dickwad comments on this here blog, but that one takes the cake. You should go lie down for awhile.

Same shit brother. Don't take shit from these clowns

Sometimes I forget how many selfish, douchey dickbags we have on this board. I appreciate the fact that you out yourselves from time to time.

You're good at name calling

You're bad at human being
December 18th, 2014 at 8:41 PM ^
because you didn't do any of it in the first place.
December 19th, 2014 at 12:48 PM ^
Gardner has played his ass off for UM. He has demonstrated class and good character during his entire career. His commitment, his character, and his allegiance and dedication to the Wolverine football program deserves respect. Your comment is cheesy.

Quick drinking and go to bed.

I'm shocked (shocked!) that this wasn't the first comment back on this... it fits so perfectly!
December 18th, 2014 at 9:17 PM ^
Came out of a long-time hiatus (so long my original account has apparently expired!) to call you a dick.
Awesome job!
December 18th, 2014 at 9:45 PM ^
Glad everyone got their chance to down vote me... love Devin and all he has given to my school, but I'm not going to sugarcoat it, his performance, or how he was handled by the coaching staff, was not good.
Hate me if you need to, but that's how I see it.
December 18th, 2014 at 10:16 PM ^
You've had so many chances to talk about his performance in the thousands of threads about the games. He was acknowledged for his sportsmanship and humanity on the playing field. Can't you just say "good job" or "what a class act" and just move on? Why in this thread of all threads does something need to be discussed that has already been beaten to death? Let it go man.
December 18th, 2014 at 10:30 PM ^
Good job, what a class act
December 19th, 2014 at 12:08 AM ^
This thread had nothing to do with his performance. It was very specific to an act of sportsmanship he displayed that should be recognized.
Bringing his poor performance into it is not only a dick move, it's completely irrelevant.
December 18th, 2014 at 10:26 PM ^
whyd you have to go there man
December 18th, 2014 at 10:50 PM ^
Because that's how I feel... I rarely post anything negative about student-athletes, but Devin had a shitty year and I took this opportunity to make a seemingly snide comment. That's it, nothing more than that.
December 19th, 2014 at 8:38 AM ^
You deserve all 56 downvotes and I just added mine. Leaving aside that you couldn't resist just being a jerk, have you ever stopped to consider what this season would have been without Devin Gardner? His lack of development is on the coaching staff. His leadership is a major reason why we were not a ZERO WIN team. Name me one game we would have won otherwise? Morris may have piloted the team to a win over Applachian State - MAYBE.
The season sucked bad enough. Without Devin it would have sucked WORSE
December 19th, 2014 at 11:13 AM ^
How the hell did this get 14 up votes? Good God.
December 18th, 2014 at 7:01 PM ^
Congrats to Devin, that was a great moment not only in the rivalry but for college football overall. In these days of playoffs, big money, and constant ESPN coverage, that moment really brought everything back home for me; and is why I love college football.
December 18th, 2014 at 7:01 PM ^
It was probably the classiest moment of the college football season.
December 18th, 2014 at 7:02 PM ^
You're a good man.
December 18th, 2014 at 7:07 PM ^
Say what you will about Devin Gardner's performance as a quarterback. As a human being and a model for what's good about 'The Michigan Difference," he's a leader and among the best.
December 18th, 2014 at 8:33 PM ^
Gives me chills.
Devin Gardner transcends just football. He will run some major organization someday.
December 18th, 2014 at 8:34 PM ^
Your exacly right!
December 18th, 2014 at 9:22 PM ^
comment was about as correct as the comment above this.

Devin Gardner is the last michigan man
December 18th, 2014 at 7:07 PM ^
I am so glad that image will be one of the lasting memories of Devin.
December 18th, 2014 at 7:09 PM ^
I wasn't a big fan of Gardner wearing the number 98 but in the end it does seem a bit fitting. The last guy to wear number 98 was the last and probably only U-M player to get a standing ovation at Ohio Stadium.

fact. Thanks for sharing that, never thought about it.

Thanks to Devin for being a bright spot in this otherwise miserable season.

Devin deserves a congratulations, he deserves the award.
December 18th, 2014 at 7:31 PM ^
True reflection of him as a person and the coach he played for. I do not believe we will be seeing this if Harbaugh comes. Hard to boot stomp them if you see the other team as good people.
December 18th, 2014 at 8:16 PM ^
About being a reflection of the coach he played for. If Harbaugh comes here, I still think kids who have good values will come here and do great things off the field, but maybe they won't show it to this extent.
I'll take big wins and big bowl games and playoffs though...
December 18th, 2014 at 8:47 PM ^
I'm not sure I can wrap my brain around a double-hypothetical. But if I had to, I would probably look at Andrew Luck as an example of a product of Harbaugh sportsmanship. And if I remember correctly I read that Luck enjoys getting inside the head of opposing lineman by enthusiastically congratulating them when they tackle him hard. Which is f'ing brilliant.
Harbaugh!
And I am truly embarassed for anyone doubting Gardner's sincerity when he went to Barrett's side to offer him condolences on an injury that appeared to be very serious. I love that he did it. He's a good, caring dude.

Image a UM player near an opposing QB on the ground.

He may be a great person outside of football, but as a player he is the reason I had a hard time watching games. I know it isn't all on him, but watching his decision making ability or lack of made me pissed. As far as those games mentioned above, that is the only time he played well was when he was hurt. I am glad that and the Hoke era are over.
