Gameday / Wifeday Open Thread

Submitted by lhglrkwg on

Gameday open thread time. How many misspelled signs will we see? Will any be funny at all?

We will see.

Edit: Updated since I gather maybe many of us are with the misses rather than watching 3 hours of MSU and OSU fans. Tell us about your wifeday plans too and how it is much preferrable to seeing 50 signs of Dantonio's head with "NEXT QUESTION" next to it

I wasn't even aware they were doing Gamdeday in EL until late last night.  I'm really taking this bye-week to heart apparently (i.e. not keeping up to date, every detail of the College Footaball week, as per usual); also, was there no better match-up, off the top of my head I guess not, really.  Anyway,  I can only imagine the lack of quality in sign creation this beatiful morning.  MSU > OSU...that's top craftmanship and intellect, right there.

Of course MSU is playing OSU but still has to throw jabs at Michigan.  Notables:

Braxton Miller throws like Denard.

Denard's Midterm Grades (Something like that)
Interceptions - A+
Fumbles - A+
Art 101 - F
Life Skills/Shoe Tying - F

Edit: A Pretender/Contender Hesiman sign with photos of Denard and Bell.  Yes - nothing whatsoever to do with OSU.

Its unbelievable how much of a penis complex Sparty has for Michigan. They are playing the top ranked team in the B16, and the best they can do is mock Denard. Here's to a shut out by OSU not because I care about the Meteor Bowl, but because a Sparty loss is better for us than a Sparty win.

I agree.  Despite my loathsome attitude toward OSU, a MSU loss would help us in our quest for the Rose Bowl.  And it's not like I'd be upset with MSU being knocked down a peg or two.  Maybe then I'd have to hear less Denard ridicule throughout the season (yes, every week, not just the week MSU plays UM). [Sigh]

The sugar bowl signs were a direct response to them choking away the chance to play in a BCS bowl by losing their 3rd game and being bitches about Michigan getting a BCS bid. Again, the obsession with Michigan every single game is pathetic. These signs are not a response to anything other than having big vaginas and going to a 2nd rate institution with a 3rd rate football squad.

My wife is an MSU alum, so I am normally at a Spartan game for Wife Day.  What a sick joke that Wife Day 2012 falls on their Ohio weekend. My Dad warned me about marrying a Spartan. Of course when we got married, Michigan was in the middle of a 6 game winning streak.

The anti-B1G circle-jerk going on right now is a little depressing.  I get that the conference is having a down year, but the fact that they are on such solid financial footing despite having the top couple of programs in transition gives me far more hope for the future than a couple of bad losses.  But whatever - Gameday is good for around-the-nation pregaming, but as real analysis about teams it is pretty lacking.  Right now, it's sole purpose is to get as many obnoxious signs as possible on a screen.

EDIT:  Also, if they keep talking about "speed" and how it doesn't exist in the B1G despite all empirical evidence to the contrary much longer, I may throw a shoe.

I feel like something is wrong with me right now... I just agreed with Lee Corso.  He called the Wisconsin/Nebraska uni's soccer jerseys, and I had couldn't agree more.

That said I hope this is the last time I agree with him.

Corso just said Notre Dame's defense is good because they only have one starter from the midwest. How stupid can you get?

Or maybe because they shutdown MSU's run game and then forced 6 turnovers against us...nah, it's probably just based upon the birthplaces of all the players
