Game wait times

How long is it taking to get in with vax cards needing to be checked?

Thinking about going tomorrow, but might now want to deal with the hassle.

It’s not too bad. And FYI, the man with the rubber gloves is surprisingly gentle. Just remember: drop pants, spread cheeks, two good coughs, exhale…

I have in the 80s boy that was a long ass day.  Felt for a few of the guys they would have us line up in a room, drop our drawers and I think one guy had some sort of crotch rot going on.  Doctor was telling him to get penicillin, go to the doctor, get treated I can't remember the rest.  They didn't do a good job seperating the females from the males but we were so tired seeing the chicks in their undies did nothing for us as we were being moved like cattle from check station to check station for hours.

Nothing spells humility like being told to bend over and spread em with a room full of guys doing the same!

I'm curious.  How is showing a vax card to someone any different than showing a ticket to someone?  Dont both activities take about the same amount of time?

I havent been to an event that requires vax cards yet but I wouldnt think that requirement would add much additional time to the process.  Am I wrong?

So long as people know they have to show them, it takes almost no additional time at all. I've been to a bunch of stuff that required showing my card. The only time there have been delays is when someone who hasn't been paying attention to the signs, and frequently the people announcing "be ready to show your vaccine card," gets to the front and starts fumbling around in their wallet or on their phone.

Unless you are my wife and wait until you get to the ticket taker and only then do you look for your phone in your purse (even though you were just on it). Then find the tickets in your Apple wallet, no wait, they were in an email... or text. Was it a group text? No, not in that text thread... I think Hotmail (yes, Hotmail). Of course I have proof of vaccine. Oh, I have to show it? Now?

I've been to dozens of events that require vax cards and I've never had to wait more than 30 seconds at any of them. It tends to be well organized, just another set of two people controlling the lines at the front asking for your vax card and id.

That's what I thought.  I remember when all the major sporting venues here in Cleveland moved from paper tickets to electronic everybody freaked out initially but within about 1/2 of a season it was just "business as usual" once everyone got used to the new process.

I mean there are ALWAYS going to be people completely oblivious to the requirements that slow things down.  But I would imagine it's the same folks who cant find or cant call up their ticket that would struggle with a vax card.

This invariably happens at concerts too. A few times a year at least, we find ourselves at Pine Knob or Meadowbrook or some other venue for something and there is always one particularly horrific line - which we seem to find - with one person at the front completely unaware as to the requirements for ticketing / entry, even though - and this is mere speculation - they have tickets.

Now that I think about it, I believe it may very well be the same person at all these places, because it seems as if the nature and timing of the backup is similar whenever my wife and I (or one of us, for we do not always go together) show up.

It takes 0 extra time. The biggest slow down is the switch to electronic tickets and getting those scanned in. The vaccine card check happens while waiting in line to get to a ticket scanner. It is like going to a bar worrying about your age passport. It is going to take you a couple seconds for them to check your ID as you walk in the door. The real wait is the line at the bar.

it's super-fast.  you can practically do it without breaking stride at the women's games.

the holdup is usually at the scanner, either people aren't ready or it just lags a few seconds.

it's no slower than it was pre-covid.

Maybe an extra 15 SECONDS. Went to the Nebraska and Northwestern games over the last 2 weeks and literally the delay is definitely measured in seconds, not minutes.
