MSU seems explosive, but I remember they were pretty explosive last year but had trouble maintaining drives if I remember correctly.

MSU has far more athletes than just a couple of years ago. The transfer portal has fixed a roster that was extremely limited on speed and skill across the board.
Still not sure Tuck has the prep & in-game coaching chops to win consistently. So many lucky wins last year when significantly outgained, but his “SEC training” has raised the talent level very quickly.

Undeniably, Mel Tucker’s teams do not quit. Ever. I think that’s his biggest strength as an in-game coach. That his players keep playing with high energy even when 2-3 scores down.

Tampering is likely and their “shaky” NIL approach is also a factor. Tuck’s ridiculous salary also points to MSU alums trying to buy their way into the top tier.
At some point, a roster with 40% transfers with playing time seems like high risk - both with misses and culture problems.
I’m not sold that MSU will turn it into a B1G championship, but they had no chance with Dantonio’s almost MAC talent level.
