FREEP Again: Shedding light on U-M football probe article

No mention of countable hours AGAIN goes to the FREEPs credibility. They have none. This really bugs me because I was thoroughly enjoying the dominating solid adequate performance of my beloved wolvies.

I remember WOTS was that the FP had something else coming down the pike......This was it?? Wow, you talk about grasping for straws.... Rosie and company have pretty much tried everything they could to derail R Rod and company this year....FAIL Sorry, they can say anything they want. The fact of the matter is that if and I mean if there were any rules being broken it would have came out by now.

I believe it came out that there were 6 former/current players and the 2 current ones were two freshmen who didn't realize how hard they would be working once they got to Michigan and didn't understand the difference between countable/noncountable hours. Yet the FP continues to cloud the facts by stating again there were 10 former/current players. They make no mention of truth or facts that came out after the initial article that basically says the original story was a steaming pile of dog doo.

I honestly just emailed this to Rosenberg: ------------------------------------------------------- You can use this story free of charge and without credit to me... Rodriguez' Blood-thirst for Winning Hurts Players By Rosenberg For the second week in a row, Forcier lay on the field grasping on to his life precariously hanging on by a thread. Needing immediate medical attention his coach could only focus on winning and putting in the next small-framed true-freshman, Denard Robinson as a sacrificial lamb to the only god Rod worships, the ulmighty win. Rodriguez chose to put winning ahead of what is best for his players when he chose not to red shirt Freshman QB Tate Forcier and destroyed the dreams of boyscout-saint-experienced-veteran Sheridan. Unnamed sources that may be within the program say that Forcier would benefit from having an extra year to build muscle and study the system to be a better player. This is a safety and health issue that Martin needs to enforce within his sports program. Rodriguez blood-thirst for winning no matter what it takes has also hindered Forcier's pro-prospects as an NFL career, for Forcier would most likely require a 5th year according to an anonymous NFL scout, which has been wasted by the lack of a red shirt. Possible NCAA red shirt violations and United Nations Human Rights violations could stem as a result from these transgressions as the NCAA and UN have strict rules to protect basic human rights. An MSU player said, "Dantonio would certainly red shirt a player such as Forcier, because it is what is best for Tate as a human. Coach D stops by all of our houses at night to tuck us in and give us a bed time story and prayer."

Yeah. I am bored and have another 15 minutes minute to kill before I have to go look at a house. Nothing to do in between and my wife is watching movies that I don't care for. So why not annoy Rosenberg if he annoys me with his lack of journalism.

This was just the Freep's attempt to breathe some life back into their story. "Hey everyone, don't forgot about our earth shattering article." Mikey got all sorts of national attention for a week and he probably misses it...along with his reputation as a fair and credible journalist.

It reminds me of that Simpsons Halloween special years back where the advertisements became monsters. (My google fails me in finding video.) Anyway they sang this song: Paul Anka: To stop those monsters 1-2-3, Here's a fresh new way that's trouble-free, It's got Paul Anka's guarantee... Lisa: Guarantee void in Tennessee. All: Just don't look! Just don't look! Just don't look! Just don't look! Just don't look! Just don't look!

More Albom, that is. His weekly column pontificates against the drunken bimbos at the Lions-Vikings game last Sunday, railing against the dangers of tailgating. And we get the tut-tutting (paraphrased) quote ..."Miller and Bud will hate what I say...stop selling beer and don't allow tailgating..." Never mind this is just stupid. Write something bombastic and lame, to score hits and get people reading, etc. And more Albom. A nearly full page pic of his mug, dishing on his new book, complete with interview, and another weird pic of him playing piano at a church somewhere. (The two questions wifey asked? "Who conducted this interview? Mitch himself?" And "has he renounced his Judaism? Or does he just hang at some church during the rest of the week?") Yeah, gonna miss the subscription to the Freep...today was the last delivery of that tripe.

When the Free Press says that "[Anybody] declined to answer questions..." they are the worst and most despicable people in this whole story. As Brian Cook knows, I sent ten detailed questions to Paul Anger and the entire Freep sports staff, asking them about things like why they granted anonymity to "former" players; what sort of methodology they used to determine that Michigan was in any way unusual in its mix of voluntary and supervised practice time, and most of all why the Freep announced its story in a Friday message to the U-M with a demand for comment before publication a matter of hours later in the Sunday edition. Paul Anger replied to me (Rosenberg did not), saying that my questions were "Red Herrings." THE FREE PRESS WILL NOT ANSWER DETAILED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS REPORTING. THEY HAVE NO BUSINESS COMPLAINING ABOUT ANYONE ELSE DCLINING TO ANSWER QUESTIONS.

It was so nice to go a few days and not see anything about this. This might not be settled for 2 years. We should be competeing for a national title then (incurable UM optimism), so lets not worry about it.

Freep investigation = "Weekend at Bernie's" Rosenberg and Snyder keep trying to pump life back into their story and convince everyone that it's still alive and well when it really seems to be dead.

I wonder how the reviews of Rosenpuke's book are doing? The flood of one-star reviews were some of the funniest things I have ever read. It's ironic that Rosenpuke is hanging onto this story because he thinks it will make him another Albom (Albom is a pompous ass now, but he does have some legit bestsellers in non-sports genres), but all it did was to flush his book's ratings and price down the crapper. I am still upset that their editor hasn't said "enough is enough" and cut his losses. And, of course, I won't be clicking onto their website anytime soon.
