Frank Clark's new ink
I just saw this tweet from Frank Clark. I thought you'd all like to see his new ink. Michigan players know how to do ink right (unlike Sparties), and legal (unlike TSUO).
“@umclark57: With Struggle comes Progress. From the "G" to the "M". Good afternoon Twitter.lockerz.com/s/278260729” #focusedtattoos

You ask and you shall recieve

If I was part of any other fanbase I would say that is very well crafted.

I thought it was clever. I mean, hey, if we can dish it out, we should be able to take it.
January 28th, 2013 at 3:37 PM ^
My current MgoScore suggests that this is not the case.

I don't get it. Who is the guy in the middle?
January 28th, 2013 at 2:04 PM ^
J/K I have no idea, a robot?
January 28th, 2013 at 2:07 PM ^
Looks to me like Frank is a SpongeBob Squarepants fan. I think he got a MermaidMan tat going there.....
January 28th, 2013 at 2:02 PM ^
What.....is that?
January 28th, 2013 at 2:03 PM ^
Yep. I will never get a tattoo.
January 28th, 2013 at 2:04 PM ^
I know Frederick Douglass said "if there is no struggle, there is no progress." Maybe he's the guy in the middle.
January 28th, 2013 at 2:13 PM ^
Not really.

Besides, the real ghost of Yost would be a racist, yes?
January 28th, 2013 at 3:27 PM ^
That's why I put it.

A "tarblooder" is a railroad term, referring to the workers who laid down the heavy ties and cemented them with tar. They were considered hard-working and dedicated men who went far beyond the pale in doing their jobs.
January 28th, 2013 at 2:43 PM ^
That highlighted section doesn't make it seem like they were all that dedicated . . .
January 28th, 2013 at 3:18 PM ^
Just FYI - That was originally a Minstrel song (A.K.A. black-face) where a white person dresses up in black make-up and sing songs from a lazy, uneducated, and incompetent perspective. Hence the lack of dedication.
It's sad how many children's folk songs actually started out this way.
The end.

If I am to understand you correctly, what you're basically saying is that our own Profit is essentially a big ol' racist? Like, the board's very own Al Jolson? Is that right? That's what you're saying? Yeah, that sounds about right. Lousy racist.
January 28th, 2013 at 2:16 PM ^
Yep, I think you're right. A quick search of the internets revealed this:
Looks like the one on the right in the image is the one he used in his tat. And I'm assuming "from the G to the M" is referring to his journey from Glenville to Michigan.
January 28th, 2013 at 2:09 PM ^
If I were a football player, I'd totally get a Voltron tattoo.

I have a couple tats so I'm not passing judgement, but I hope he likes that tatoo.....in about 40 years.
January 28th, 2013 at 5:31 PM ^
I'm guessing not a lot of people make it from Glenville to Ann Arbor. A reminder of his accomplishment, the hard work it took to achieve it, and the lessons he picked up along the way are probably things he won't mind being reminded of 40 years from now.
Now, if it were something random without that meaning behind it I'd agree with you.
January 28th, 2013 at 2:19 PM ^
He might need to change the number!
January 28th, 2013 at 2:20 PM ^
Nice tat... but I sure hope that iron is turned off.
January 28th, 2013 at 2:27 PM ^
hopefully that tat helps him sack a bunch of people next year
January 28th, 2013 at 2:40 PM ^
Better than getting a Prince Albert.
January 28th, 2013 at 2:45 PM ^
he "progress"es on the field into a great pass rusher!

At least it's not the Missouri 'M'.
January 28th, 2013 at 3:48 PM ^
15 years from now, there will be a booming business in tattoo removal.
January 28th, 2013 at 3:56 PM ^
fascinating choice- purchase a tatoo when the household is trying to manage without an ironing board. i'm not sure where the current generation of sack freaks priorties lie.

It needs to be headlined "Not to be", and then it needs to begin "but..."

I had no awareness of a thing called a tarblooder or that it was the Glenville mascot... However, that is a pretty awesome mascot. Probably one of the coolest and most original mascot names I've ever heard (besides Wolverines, of course).
January 28th, 2013 at 5:39 PM ^
I won't tat myself, but I think it's interesting. More power to him!
