I'm not one to facebook stalk but Tate's status update popped up in my news feed and here's what it said "Almost at 200 pounds. Time to get swoll for the ladies and the Big Ten;) hahah."

really doesn't play a big role in injury. There's plenty of big, strong players who are injury prone. It's the matter of how less exposed you are when it comes to taking hits. The more exposed you are, the greater the chance of getting hurt regardless of weights. With that being said, it helps that you're heavier so that you absorb punishment better.

The OP was talking about how it came across his news feed, not that he went to Tate's wall and read it. I think being friends with people you're not actually friends with is more than a little weird, but there were two distinct points here: (1) being friends with someone you don't know and (2) reading something that automatically comes up in your news feed. The later is the point that I was responding to. If you read the sequence of posts, that's fairly obvious.

that Tate gaining weight may adversely effect his mobility? that said, i understand it is a necessity to be able to endure a full season of big ten football. Just an observation.
