Forcier Apology
Apparently Tate felt the need to apologize after the MSU game...

On behalf of all Michigan fans I want to say that you Tate and all your teammates have nothing for which to apologize. You guys played your hearts out and came up short. Thats football. Not to mention Michigan was only in the game because of your fourth quarter heroics.
But that being said, I dont think kids that do their best should ever feel the need to apologize about mistakes on the field....shit happens. Even Nick Sheridan last year....clearly not talented enough to be a DivI qb, but that wasn't his fault. It's like criticizing a dog for not speaking Chinese....some things just arent going to happen.
As for Tate, and the team, your efforts are much appreciated and the only thing you will ever have to apologize for is off the field misconduct (which doesn't seem to be a pending issue with our current core of players), or simply not putting in the time and effort in the weight room, class room, and practice study (which clearly we know isn't the case in the RR regime). If the team continues to work hard and represent our university in a such a respectable manner, we can be nothing but proud of them, win or lose. With RR, Barwis, and the systems being installed, the spoils will eventually be enjoyed, but let's not overlook all the accomplishments, improvements, hard work, and achievements of these kids thus far.
Point being...Tate, and the rest of the team....be proud, you guys are on your way both on the field and as members of the University community.
And yes, ultimately teams are judge on wins and losses, but considering the 3-9 debacle last year, to the clearly more cohesive and improved unit this year....the current UM players are laying the foundation for the future of the program by embracing the new system completely and making extensive progress in just one year.

Apologizing after his fourth quarter performance is what you call a freshman mistake.

There's a little discussion here too, didn't want you to feel left out if people don't respond to your diary.

"...have nothing for which to apologize."
This sort of word ordering embodies the spirit of Mgoblog. +1

was contacting Forde in the first place.

Amen. This should be required reading for any fans who trash their players.

To the fans of Wolverine Nation, I'm sorry....

To apologize. I bad tip the ball got intercepted. It happens I do not hold him responsible for the loss. Michigan had several chances to score TDs and didn't. It was a team loss not a single player fault.

the most exciting Freshman QB to play for Michigan since.....since.....since the dawn of Michigan football.
No need, Tate, no need.

literally my only response to this was to cock an eyebrow at the notion that Tate is apparently involved in a texting/email relationship with Pat Forde. that makes me quite uncomfortable, given how awful Forde is at life. The guy seems to care less about anything not related to the SEC.
then again, maybe Tate's causing him to turn a corner? *uncomfortable*

No doubt this kid wants it all. All the glory and all of the blame that comes with being Michigan's starting QB. He is living the dream.
He will be great.

Isn't "he will be great", past tense?
October 7th, 2009 at 9:16 AM ^
Uh no. That's the future perfect tense. What part of "He will be great" has already happened?

too early in the morning to be commenting on here. this is what happens.

Your dog doesn't speak Chinese??
Tate, my awesome dog would like to tell you
(translated from Chinese, of course):
"A day of sorrow is longer than a month of joy."
"Fear not the long cold night, for it gives you more time to dream."
And his personal favorite:
"Just as fine jade is not polished without rubbing, a man is not made perfect without trials."

So, why shouldn't Tate?
Just kidding. Until Tate circumcizes some kid, he can just keep on nailing those cougars.

Think about it, this kid was in high school last year. He has put a smile on my face watching him this year. By the way, down here in the Toledo border area Buckeye fans have taken notice and actually have high praise for Tate. One friend said "With the game on the line I would take Tate any day over Pryor".

Shaq calls Pryor "The Master of Panic". Tate is so amazing when the game is on the line. I can't wait to see what he brings to the table in 3 more yrs.
