First time to The Game - advice needed for avoiding sitting with Buckeyes

Submitted by Dallas Walmart… on November 19th, 2023 at 6:21 PM

I'm heading up to The Game with my son for the first time this weekend.  I need some advice from the board on best sections to sit in to avoid being with Buckeye fans.  Tickets are $$$$ - probably looking at seats in one of the corners.  I know Buckeyes will be scattered throughout the stadium, but if there is a section where they tend show up in greater numbers, I'd hate to end up there.  Any advice would be appreciated.

I sit in sec 13 row 84 and the visitor section starts the row behind me up high. We sometimes get a buffer row of Mich fans, but they end up on top of us.

I have been a season ticket holder since 2002, attended as a student and my dad was a season ticket holder too, so I have been going since I was a very young kid. Honestly buckeye fans aren’t that bad. Msu fans can be a little nastier, but the worst fans are the g5 fans that think they have a chance, like uconn back during RR.

My family had season tickets for a couple of decades in Section 1.  We left Ann Arbor two years ago.  Over the years, we had fans from all B1G schools sitting near us at some point, including Buckeye fans.  We never had a problem.  We always tried to be friendly and most of the time that was reciprocated and it was a good experience for all. Buckeye fans were typically no problem.

We always had lots of older season ticket holders near us  and they tended to sell their tickets later in the season as the weather got colder.  This Saturday, the weather is projected to be a high of 37.

If you see anyone that's drooling on themselves and smells like they haven't showered in weeks then that's definitely RGard's mother.  The OSU fans are in the south end zone up high in the corner.

Yep, red is dotted throughout but heaviest in south end zone (the tickets of course going for the lowest prices).   So if you are looking at a corner, Sections 37-40ish would be best bet.

Good luck and be loud!

Avoid the southeast corner and the endzone row 86, that’s where the visitors section starts. I know this because I’m in row 85

Also, southwest endzone corner near the field is also where they sit

Avoid the South End Zone between the suite towers, especially anything above row 80.  My seats are Section 7, Row 83, and there will be a surfeit of Buckeyes behind us the whole time.

Band will be in Sec. 8 row 80 on up, so probably not right in front of them. The families of the team and OSU AD tix -Sec. 7 80 on up. These are the OK red shirted fans with a zero on their caps. The nasty ones are scattered throughout the stadium so it’s a crap shoot.

id prefer to be sitting next to a goddamn buckeye so everytime we shove the ball into the endzone and shove honda mccord into the ground and shove maserati marv into a broken pattern that wont improve his nfl draft stock i can look at that red colored thing from ohio and say fuck you

Their band is in Section 8 or 9 at the top.  The top rows of the south end zone are their allotment of tickets.  The rest of the stadium will pretty much depend on whose selling and right now there's only about 1000 tickets available so you should be safe if you stay away from the South East Corner and the south end zone.

I went to The Game in Columbus in 2010 and all the buckeye fans I sat around were quite nice to me.  The trolls online who think Michigan is going to get the death penalty over this are a small percentage of Ohio State fans.  I grew up in the Cleveland area and most are nice.  Not to mention if they act up in the stadium they'll be asked to leave and escorted out.

Can I ask an unrelated question?  I was lucky enough to be gifted a student ticket. Still have my Mcard from a few years ago. How closely do they look at the Mcards upon entry? Or should I validate and not chance it?
