First Day of Spring Practice OL

Submitted by DrMantisToboggan on

One configuration of the 1st Team OL today had:

LT - Cole

LG - Bredeson

C - Ruiz

RG - Onwenu

RT - JBB

Not something one couldn't have predicted, but it is interesting to see that the coaches are indeed open to move Cole from center and are trusting enough of Ruiz early on to let him man the middle of the line.

That's all, short post. Just anxious to get back into football mode.

This isn't YouTube or IMDB (moment of silence for the worst cesspool of commenters on the internet): that kind of language and attack is likely to get you banned. Have we seen you here before?

You're*

Ah, these are the fans that I so enjoy during March and April - one unexpected configuration of one unit and we're doomed and so and so isn't ready or as good as we thought and so forth.

This is the sort of thing that makes sitting in the stands at the Spring Game actually a hilarious affair, if you're into that sort of thing.

Idk if this comment will be seen, but I actually think Kugler is getting an equal shot with Ruiz. You don't just assume a freshman will beat out a senior and Kugler did play against Hawaii. He may not have lived up to his recruiting hype yet, but he's got one offseason to hold off a freshman and I think he'll be afforded that chance.

ended, but I was hopeful we would get Isiah Wilson and he would compete at RT.  Everybody was saying Ruiz was college ready, so no a real surprise.  Anhy word on Filiaga?

How much more difficult is it for a true frosh non-early enrollee to see playing time / challenge for a starting position than an early enrollee?  I would assume it's even more difficult at O-line where everybody needs to work in concert
