Vegas knew something I think because the line was Utah -3 before the game which is interesting if Oregon is considered #3 in the country.

I thought about that too. But they adjusted when it came to Michigan and Michigan St. So they could have adjusted when it came to Oregon and Ohio St. But they didn't. So I am left wondering if they have Oregon still so high because they want the PAC12 included, if at all possible.

Oregon is #3 based on resume. Vegas lines are based on advanced power ratings, some of which don't have Oregon as a Top 20 team.

In all reality, they should be the CFP rankings. On a neutral field OSU (even though they lost at home in early September) would have been at least a double digit favorite over Oregon. And don’t get me started on Cincinnati

If any fan base should be complaining it's not Cincinnati's, it's Oklahoma St's. Maybe they deserve a shot at the Top 4 more than Cincinnati and Notre Dame.

I actually think the committee will say that it was more of OSU being impressive than MSU being terrible. Won’t be surprised if OSU is #2 next week and MSU drops to like 10. That’s regardless of an Oregon win or loss.

I would like to think that Ohio State is blocked by Oregon as long as Oregon has only 1 loss. But, this Committee has an eclectic view of the importance of wins (ask Sparty), so you could be right.

as an aside, the utes have what have to be the single ugliest and inexplicable 'alternate unis' that i have ever seen - and that's saying a lot when they are playing oregon who has mangled there uniforms beyond counting.

The committee has made it clear they don’t like MSU, they will drop sparty like a ton of bricks. Sparty will get ranked behind any 2 loss SEC team.

If Oregon loses today, Pac is pretty much eliminated from the playoffs. Oregon/Utah would likely play again in the Pac 12 championship game, winner to the Rose Bowl.

It's too bad SDSU slipped against Fresno--we could get all the P5 teams to two losses besides M and GA, and the committee could have let Hoke and Harbaugh meet in the playoffs.

I really do wonder if UM, even with a loss to OSU, would be behind Cincy if the Bearcats lose either of their next two games. I haven't been following ND much this year but feels like even a blowout of Stanford probably isn't enough to get them above UM, and then we're getting into your Okie St and the like who don't have a strong argument IMO.

Crazy fact: the Utah player that returned a punt for a TD right at the half played in Harbaugh’s first game coaching for Michigan (2015 Utah game). He had a 14yd punt return and 50+ receiving yards in that game. LOL. Kid has been around forever.
