Crap! Can you watch ESPN3 games after the fact, or only live?
I'm going to be in cabin in the middle of nowhere. Psyched about that, but I always counted on getting to put it on my DVR and watch when I got back. I hate UConn and their bullshit.

True. And BTN will probably as well. I figured I could avoid all scores until I got back on Sunday evening and watch it then. Also seems like ESPN3 does do at-will replays.
September 19th, 2013 at 6:15 AM ^
Not sure if it is the case all the time, but typically the broadcast of Big Ten games on other networks will be available on BTN2Go as of midnight Sunday. Basically, you'll be able to watch the game likely within an hour of its actual conclusion. Replays on BTN are available for about two weeks.
Here in the Detroit area, the listing is updated - ABC gets the Michigan game, ESPN will have LSU / Auburn and ESPN2 gets Colorado St. vs. Alabama. ESPNU will have Southern Methodist vs. Texas A&M.

Usually you can watch ESPN3 games for at least a few days after the fact. Just go to the "replay" tab. However, ESPN3 seems to change their rules weekly, so don't quote me on this.

If so then I guess it's fine...

I don't know quite how to do it, but I'm guessing that the coverage for Michigan - UConn has 3 - 5 times the population in the rest of the map. Here's a map that shows the population distribution. But it doesn't have the real numbers detailing the distribution, especially overlaid on the Michigan coverage map.
September 19th, 2013 at 8:31 AM ^
Clearly far more than 50% of the country is getting the game - still sucks for those who aren't
September 19th, 2013 at 12:58 AM ^
If nothing happening on ESPN 2, then mirror the Michigan game! May be we should wrestle NBC away from ND and make it the Michigan Football Network!
I live in KS, so I am screwed!

Big Ten footprint allows residents in Lincoln, NB and most of Iowa to watch Kansas State/Texas.

how Delaney and the AD's feel about that great expansion now?
September 19th, 2013 at 10:11 AM ^
Apparently ABC is thinking that Nebraskan's hatred of Texas >> Nebraskan's interest in B1G and therefore airing Texas will drive ratings in the Nebraska market. They are probably right.

If I get the blessing from my GF, I'm thinking about having a viewing party at my house, I get ABC NYC, cause I'm cool like that. I will post a thread on the board tomorrow if she gives me the thumbs up, I live near La Jolla, kitty corner off the 52 freeway.
September 19th, 2013 at 1:48 AM ^
That's a good location. I live in PB. I got an Apple TV and it appears the game will be on Watch ESPN so I'll catch it at home, but you're a champ for offering up your house.

While this channel is listed on my guide, I can't watch it. I live in AZ. How are you able to get it?
September 19th, 2013 at 12:49 PM ^
grandfathered in from the late 90's, I decided to keep the national affiliates and my wisdom is paying off. I pay a fee monthly for these channels, ABC & NBC in NYC & L.A., $3.50/month for each.

I know it's usually a crap connection, not HD or anything, but better than missing a game completely. www.feed2all.eu shows pretty much every sporting event. Granted, it's a little ways behind even the TV stream (I'll usually get my Scorecenter push about a second before it happens on the site) but it's something. I'm in Utah, so no UM for me this weekend without some internetting.
September 19th, 2013 at 3:42 AM ^
Oh well, ABC is stupid, but though the quality won't be as great glad I'll get to watch through WatchESPN. If you have a decent interweb connection the quality isn't bad; not quite as perfect as a cable feed, but way better than anything on firstrow or any of those "unofficial" streams (or for that matter, way better than a non HD signal).
And if your internet/cable provider doesn't offer watchespn, ask a friend or family member to borrow their login info.

If we pound the snot out of UConn, the prevailing wisdom will be that "Eh, it's UConn, they suck so this game means nothing." If we play poorly or God forbid, lose, you don't want to watch it anyhow.

People who kill five hookers while at SMU should only be allowed to watch SMU get pounded by Texas A&M on ESPN-U.

should be able to buy ESPN Gameplan on a weekly basis for $9.99....actually it might up to $14.99, I cant recall......I get Gameplan for the season to get acess to games outside my region, especially when they split the country up at primetime. If you're a college football fan, it's worth the investment......if you just like to watch Michigan, just buy it for this week. It's a hassle, but when you dont live near your team, getting regionalized out of coverage happens and this is one remedy
September 19th, 2013 at 10:11 AM ^
Is the weekly pass listed as available anywhere? DirecTV only has it listed as a season pass for the low, low price of $140.97. While that might be worthwhile for people who frequently want to watch games that are only available on Gameplan, I haven't been interested in any of the games on there in literally years. $140 is quite a lot for just the Michigan game.

September 19th, 2013 at 11:24 AM ^
It was worth it 15 years ago when it actually had good games on it. These days the typical games it covers are things like Bowling Green vs Kent State, Montana State vs Stephen F. Austin St., Lafayette vs Penn, etc.
If you are a B1G fan, there is NO reason to own Gameplan anymore, as the B1G is NEVER on it. Except in this bizarre situation where we schedule a crap school that decides to move the game to prime time for no good reason.
September 19th, 2013 at 12:23 PM ^
...the options are either $25 for the day or $40 for the game. Which is totally backwards, but still.....the jump from $10 to $25 prob moves it above the "worth it" threshold vs. going to a bar.
September 20th, 2013 at 12:09 AM ^
It was only $99 per year and you always got the Michigan game out of market. But now the BTN dominates and my stupid cable company will not carry the BTN!
September 19th, 2013 at 8:56 AM ^
While I have the Ultimate package, it does not include ABC East (I live in Phoenix and due to law I cannot view that channel since I have a local ABC channel). Therefore, I added the Sports Pack Premium Channels... that way I not only get to watch Michigan defeat Conneticut, I also get to watch the rebroadcast of Red Wings games on Fox Sports Detroit. WOO, my favoirte time of year! I love having DirecTV.
