And 500 points or even 100 with 6 months. Racking up points doesn't mean you are going to catch on to all the rules. Spending time on the board, even if just lurking, really gives you a good grasp of what is kosher to post. I kinda like the 100 point threshold because these comment threads are always hilarious. Are any of us any worse off after this?

Great article (not sure why others are hating)... But uh, where does it suggest that Ekpe Udoh has any "Turkish heritage" of his own?

How you got "his Turkish heritage" from that article is a mystery, and it detracts from what's actually a very interesting article.

This photo proves humans are the same everywhere... put Michigan apparel on them and they could be at Crisler protesting yet another craptastic phantom foul on Mo Wagner.

I'm a Detroit/Livonia boy who's been living next door to Turkey (visited many times) for about 15 years now in Bulgaria.

I like this article for a couple of reasons. First of all, here is the opposite of an "ugly American" which I am so tired of hearing about (and witnessing) while residing in Europe, especially lately with all the animosity Trump brings.

Secondly, Turkey is a very important country in terms of world peace, sitting on the edge of East vs. West and one I'm concerned about at the moment. It's good to keep tuned in, even in this small way, of the Turkey/USA dynamic. It's a very complicated relationship between our two countries.

By the way, they mention the Turkish writer Pamuk in the article. Excellent few books that can give some insights into Turkey.

A little off topic, but there's a great documentary about the cats of Istanbul. For the few cat lovers on this board, you will enjoy it. Or if your wife or significant other loves cats, she will enjoy it. Aside from the cats, it's an interesting glimpse into Istanbul, especially for those of us who have never been there.
