Does this help or hurt our chances getting Anderson. So who is the 10th coach?
February 23rd, 2018 at 11:22 AM ^
He’s currently an analyst, but is clearly of position coach/co-ordinator quality.
February 23rd, 2018 at 2:29 PM ^
Co-ordinator?
February 23rd, 2018 at 2:56 PM ^
Ordinator and harbaugh said nah there will be two co-ordinators.
February 23rd, 2018 at 3:10 PM ^
Drevno did not like being demoted.
February 23rd, 2018 at 4:22 PM ^
Hey, it happens.
February 23rd, 2018 at 5:15 PM ^
I think we are better off in the long run.
February 23rd, 2018 at 6:18 PM ^
He is on the money with Kurt Anderson. It’s getting late in the coaching carousel, but he is a good choice.
February 23rd, 2018 at 9:23 PM ^
What is Anderson’s current position?
February 23rd, 2018 at 6:16 PM ^
Can we demote Pep and Jay too and they not like it?
Also, you said like 48 hours ago the staff was set. What changed all the sudden and why?
February 23rd, 2018 at 6:20 PM ^
Drevno did not like his new role and the changes. Staff titles and roles were being evaluated. He was basically demoted. He decided to move on. Win-win.
February 23rd, 2018 at 8:57 PM ^
Well, at least we know we can throw the "Harbaugh won't fire his friends" narrative out the window. But for the love of God, I hope the RBs get better in pass blocking over the off-season.
February 23rd, 2018 at 11:26 AM ^
Matt Dudek more than Drevno. It helps that we hired Warinner before Anderson came up for his visit. He may have known this could happen.
Whether he would prefer to play for Drevno or Warinner is anyone's guess until he says something.
February 23rd, 2018 at 11:33 AM ^
Given Drevno's track record of landing tackle targets at Michigan I'm going to say helps just by attrition.
February 23rd, 2018 at 12:00 PM ^
you can believe the timing of the move was sped up by Anderson's timeline changing.

for a while now. Drevno is a friend of Harbaughs and he probably didn't want to fire him, but made it clear he should move on. Rumors he could be heading to Vandy, so willing to bet he let him find another job first and then allow him to resign.
It appears we already have his replacement on the staff so a good move for everyone involved.
February 23rd, 2018 at 11:54 AM ^
Classy move if so. Firing people is not fun, regardless of whether it is warranted. Harbaugh did what he had to do, but did it in the best way possible.

Everything's starting to make sense now. Ed Warriner was the OL coach and run game coordinator for Minnesota, and he takes a job as an analyst at Michigan?
That seems like a tough sales pitch. But you add in "you'll be our OL coach as soon as Drev leaves, which will be soon"...

Which reminds me....who else was more excited for the release of "Showgirls" back in 1995 than they should have been...other than me???

Umm, I may have been. Not proud of it, but I was

I'm sure the tape must be worn out in certain spots.

Is if Elizabeth had invited Tiffany Amber on stage in a cameo role.

when she's beating up the scum who trashed her friend, that shows the full upskirt shot when she kicks him in the head....is quite revealing....

I was so excited! Then I saw it, and I was so ... scared.

I never watched the whole movie. I only saw one scene.....many times.

I'm glad we will get someone different, but I always hate seeing people lose their jobs. hopefully he finds his groove somewhere else (and not in competition with us).
February 23rd, 2018 at 11:00 AM ^
I hear ya. He'll be fine though. Coaches know what they signed up for. If you make the big bucks, you have to perform.
February 23rd, 2018 at 11:12 AM ^
I know everyone here is happy about this, but isnt the timing weird, why now and not 6 weeks ago? Even this kinda good news (esp when combined with the Enos nonsense) makes me wonder if there is general disorganization int he program.
February 23rd, 2018 at 11:16 AM ^
Well hopefully this is the beginning of true organization. I would like to think that Warinner was brought in for this situation now or in the future.
February 23rd, 2018 at 11:19 AM ^
Just a thought, but maybe Harbs wanted to give him signing day to see if he could pull it out? He obviously couldn't, so this may be a decision a long time coming.
February 23rd, 2018 at 12:34 PM ^
With the smoke about him going to Vandy the last couple of days, it seems like it was planned and just waiting on a couple other dominos to fall.
It makes all the hand-wringing during the last couple months look pretty silly.
February 23rd, 2018 at 12:36 PM ^
Warriner is definitely an upgrade.
This also implies that recruits (and grad-transfer recruits) may have been apprised in advance.
With McElwain also in tow, the offensive coaching staff looks much MUCH better than a month ago
February 23rd, 2018 at 7:51 PM ^
I feel like these positive changes are a ramp up to a much better season. Similar to when Harbaugh was first hired and started the Spring with ‘shock and awe’ 4 hour practices. This Warinner guy seems like an O-line badass. Expecting noticeable O-line improvement in the Fall.
February 23rd, 2018 at 11:36 AM ^
recruiters. We hadn't yet hired Warinner. Since then, he lost out on our top (HS) targets. We hired a suitable replacement for the OL. This happened pretty fast after hiring McElwain as his replacement at OC.
I'm not sure I see any great need for urgency in February.
February 23rd, 2018 at 12:21 PM ^
I sure hope this is right, but given the way the line played last year, I would hope recruiting well wouldn’t have kept him around. I get what you are saying, and I hope it’s true...but if Drevno was an ace recruiter, he would have been shuffled around and a new coach put in charge of the online long ago.
