Drevno is Recruiting Viramontes; Did In Home Today
I believe with Baxter gone, Drevno probably took over West Coast duties full time (I assume he was doing west coast earlier too) but apparently he went in home with Vicious Vic today. Some might see that as a sign we want him as a QB but I do think UM does quite a bit of recruiting based on region rather than position (but doesn't hurt to have an OC visit when supposedly the concern was he would not get a shot at QB). Unless....Viramontes is going full OL!!!
Also related, old friend RichRod offered Viramontes Saturday- and he apparently expanded his top 3 immediately to top 4 to include Arizona. Will be overnighting with Zona now. Viramontes would obviously fit that Rich Rod offense pretty neatly as a QB.
Viramontes is headed to #Arizona for his OV. They offered him Saturday. He immediately extended his top 3, to 4, when they offered.

I was informed Michigan OC Tim Drevno just went on an in-home visit to 3* ATH, and former Michigan commit, Vic Viramontes.

I thought Vic decommitted months ago? We didn't like it but not much of a story in terms of moral barometer then. If M had decommitted Swenson and Weaver months ago, same thing.

Apples and oranges. It was his decision to decommit not Michigan's.

Vic decommitted due to bad info fed to him by someone in his camp. He was told there was 0% chance he would compete at QB, which is not true.

Why we want this guy?
January 26th, 2016 at 2:57 PM ^
Also, headbands. His nickname is "Vicious," too.
January 26th, 2016 at 3:00 PM ^
Plus, you can spell the sentence "Irate victims eat vomit" with the letters in his name...
January 26th, 2016 at 3:03 PM ^
He's from Norco, CA, which sounds sort of like that TV show, "Narcos."
There are so many reasons!
January 26th, 2016 at 3:16 PM ^
Also norco is an opiate analgesic. Indeed, so many reasons.

I'm sold.

I am sure the last reason was the clincher, amirite?

Headbands. I'm a huge fan.

Discuss.

I'd like to see him at LB in 18 months after a year to bulk up, but he would also be fun as a H back with all the trick pays you could run with a guy like this.
Also because the staff wants him.
January 26th, 2016 at 3:20 PM ^
He just seems to be getting an inordinate amount of attention given his relatively low 3* rating.
Also, didn't he decommit for a stupid reason? Like one guy talked some shit about Michigan and that made him bail? I don't remember exactly, but it was a WTF moment.
January 26th, 2016 at 3:30 PM ^
Any potential QB - however low probablity - will get attention. Add the hair, the headband, the workout videos, the name, the swag, the position flexibility and you get the hype.

that makes 2 of us. he could be great at LB or HB or FB (obviously after some coaching, dedicated reps, etc) given his natural ability and the schemes / potential fit at m. i think thats where his greatest potential lies.
hes just an enticing prospect though given his versatility and skill set (including his unusual physical QB style / LB play on highlight tape, insane training videos, etc) so ill try to follow his career and root for him to tear it up.wherever he signs.
id be interested to see him try QB under rod, no doubt

Why are we still recruiting? It never seems to work out well for anyone involved.

Rich Ro riguez.
No D.

right down to the explanation.
While I am the quintessential RRod hater and Hoke apologist I think we are best off leaving both to their well paying and seemingly appropriate gigs in AZ and OR.

Thank you for posting anything other than more complaining about rectruiting tactics.

love this recruit, but now that the class has grown and changed, where do we need him? LB? Don't we have better bets there?

Or perhaps until that fateful day WD's stack of SuperGuides crushes him in a truly unfortunate incident...

Probably just meeting with him to let him know he's Plan V.
