Dominic Nichols commits to Michigan; More commitment dates for top Michigan targets approaching.
4-Star edges Elias Rudolph and Jacob Smith are said to be announcing the first week of July.
4-star linebacker Jeremiah Beasley is set to announce his decision on June 29th.
4-star cornerback Aaron Scott plans to announce the first week of July, though he has said that he will push it back to July 30th if he needs more time to decide.
sweet
Michigan Football is clearly targeting a certain type of player at SDE - 6'5"/6'6" and 230+ pounds with high upside. I like it.
Go Blue!
Sounds like Scott is first waiting to see if OSU takes another 2 cb.
Scott is Blue. Take it to the bank
“Raback” it??
bk finest it
...sorry can't have one....
Consider it banked.
big statement, hope you're right.
Let's just hope it's not the Silicon Valley Bank.
Seeing as how OSU just got the last visit, the fact that he’s not setting a very imminent commitment date, at the very least, can’t be a bad thing.
I imagine OSU is still the leader for his services, but hopefully Harbaugh and Co. can get an in-home visit and make one final pitch. Pull out the big guns, bring Clink and Partridge if you need to.
Signing Scott right out of OSU’s backyard would be a massive coup.

I was shocked to see it in before:
"Nichols"
"Title says it all"
Dom is a wo
At this point I'm excited about any player this staff takes. Good times.
Very good times.
Agree. A top 5 to 10 class every year and excellent player development translates to consistent NC contention especially with the 12-team Playoff starting in 2024
This is where I think Harbaugh’s experience in San Francisco is paying off for Michigan. He knows exactly what traits he needs to see in a player to know if they can grow and develop into a player that the league is going to want. And Harbaugh is doing a pretty darn good job of putting his players into the NFL.
Sure looks like he’s able to identify guys that don’t necessarily fit into the top-250, but they’re high upside and can play like a top-100 if you can develop them. And Harbaugh is banking that he can.
They don’t all go first or second round, but if you’re putting multiple rounds of guys into the NFL every year, then you’ve got a pretty darn good team, regardless of what the recruiting starzzzzz next to the player’s name might say. Whether or not the NFL wants your players, to me, is a more accurate barometer of how good your team is than what the recruiting rankings say.
Don’t get me wrong. They need to still go after those top guys. Those guys are probably the difference between making the CFP and winning it. Michigan needs at least a handful of those guys in its classes every year. But Harbaugh has the benefit of the doubt right now.
Good OP. The 2024 class should finish between about 7 and 11 in the rankings. Solid….and it’s going to be 95% wrapped up before fall camp begins, which lets the staff really turn its focus to the 2025 class on the trail. That’s a very good thing.
I thought top 5 was still in the cards. What happened?
Some of the higher rates guys we were in on either committed elsewhere or momentum faded. Guys like Taylor Tatum, Aaron Chiles, Brian Robinson, Darien Mayo, Boo Carter, etc. If we can bring in guys like Aaron Scott, Gatlin Bair, Bennett Warren/Michael Uini, etc. they will certainly help the class ranking
From all the chatter about this class I thought we were putting up a top 5 class, after back to back playoff appearances and getting our QB. Class rank doesn’t say it all but says enough. Best case scenario for me is finish anywhere ahead of Ohio state
If Michigan has another really strong season on the field (as expected), they might land another big fish or two in this class that we aren’t expecting right now…and end up in the top 5 or 6. As things stand right now, somewhere just inside the top 10 or 11 is more realistic. Chiles was very much expected to be part of this class, so that hurts a lot. However, there is a ton of talent and athletic upside in this class. I’m not concerned at all about this class. It’s going to be very good.
Hell yeah!!!!
Huh? What are they winking about?
About what a wuss you are.
/no politics
This vicious sociopath looks a little like Gen. George S. Patton.
That picture seems to portray his intellect pretty well.
He is not going to be around much longer. Like Belarus will be any safer for him.
Aren't they going back to Africa? And Putin literally was powerless, what is he going to do now?
I thought he agreed to go to Belarus?
Get a room!
Welcome young man! Go Blue!
nice... that is quite a list.
if those guys join this class, it'll be one for the ages.
The Dom?
Anyone else notice a lack of shade from Vince Morrow as of late?
Vic Morrow? His team barely beat the Bad News Bears.
They’re probably getting a commit from Brian Robinson Nichols looks to be a similar prospect and after we moved on from Robinson.
I enjoy this gif quite a lot. It's so whimsical!
Welcome home Dominic!
Good info 👍
Nichols I have limited excitement at the moment. He may be a rock star when all is said and done but……I expected higher ranked recruits to be easier to get at Edge U.We have proven we develop that position A grade.
Not in the running for any of the 5 5* edge prospects and we have a 4* and 2- 3* per 247.
Not to be only negative. I think Baxter has potential star written on him.
I don't really care about the rankings, but based on film he is the DE prospect I'm least excited about. But that's ok, he'll get his chance and we are taking 4 DEs this class.
I agree, I think he's the least explosive/athletic of the guys we're recruiting at Edge. Guys like Rudolph and Baxter seem to have potential through the rough though.
