Domani Countdown on Instagram

5 Star DB who just visited Michigan this past weekend vs OSU has just posted a countdown to his Instagram story. Could he be committing to the good guys in a few short hours?

If he is actually going to commit, the sooner after this Saturday the better for us, because it means he is making an emotional decision based on what he saw this weekend.

The truth is, this weekend couldn't really have gone any better outside of the snow.  So if he doesn't want to come to Michigan now, he probably was never going to.

Most likely.  Honesty, if I were a top-10 recruit I’d wait  until signing day too.  Your spot is going to be saved, and with the immense amount of coaching turnover that’s going on, might as well wait to see that the coaches you’re committing to (assistant included) will actually be there for at least a year.

Has to be a commitment to Michigan considering the timing, the fact he LOVES all his visits everywhere and wherever he just visited is always his leader, Michigan won, and the environment was electric. Get out of the bpone!

I'd say it's 1 of 4 possibilities in reverse order of probablity.

4) Nothing - a rouse a red herring

3) USC commitment - recruitment is about relationship and he has none with Riley

2) Bama commitment - Um did all they could but it wasn't enough

1) UM commitment - the team has national relevance, you could never top that environment in Tuscaloosa, steel sharpens steel you get to display your skills on the biggest stage against the best receivers in the country, get coached by one of the best in college and play alongside your good buddy for the team you loved as a kid.

Where are you going?

We'll find out at 9!

I think there’s some reshuffling going on SC recruiting Board and I’m sure Riley is trying to find room for “his” recruits could be Prysock got a firm handshake seeing as they have 2 other highly rated cb’s commited and are in hot pursuit of Jackson.  A hunch is telling me it’s SC.

What’s crazy so far is all of the recruiting hype for us other than Berry has been for the 2023 cycle. For some reason, I guess I expected some instant 2022 pop off that epic game.

I think at this point, UM is primarily considering elite recruits to fill in the 2022 class. There are only so many spots left. The reaction has been overall great, and even with all the coaching carousel stuff, The Game has been one of the biggest stories in college football / American sports for the last 4+ days.

To your point, there may be recruits who felt super pumped by the victory and wanted to commit -- unless you're one of the 10 recruits UM is holding a spot for right now, I doubt we would ever know

So who are those top recruits you speak of?   I come up with eight (editted to include Amorion Walker - thanks nine and three

Cornerback

- Domani Jackson

- Austin Ausberry

Offensive Tackle

- Josh Conerly

- Kiyuanta Goodwin

Defensive Tackle

- Deone Walker

Safety

- Zeke Berry

- Keon Sabb

WR

- Amorion Walker

That is 8

Of those, there has been positive chatter about Berry, Sabb and Goodwin and little or ambiguity about everone else.  Sabb and Goodwin actually seem to be very positive outcomes from the weekend as it looks like we gave ourselves a much better chance.   We were already in good shape with Berry and the other five are largely a mystery which doesn’t give me that high hopes.

Wonder if we can get back in for Jaeden Gould, corner from New Jersey committed to USC? I’m not sure, maybe all of our NJ pipeline dried up after Partridge and Campanille left.

"Could he be committing to the good guys in a few short hours?"

A FEW SHORT HOURS?

HA!!!!

No.

These guys know what they are doing, and it won't be anywhere near "A FEW SHORT HOURS."

Another month or so is more likely, especially with a new USC coach on the way.

Think he's gonna go to USC regardless of Donte Williams not being retained. Malachi Nelson just flipped from OU to USC and I have this feeling a whole bunch of guys are gonna commit to USC tonight

Same. My lone connection to this recruitment has nothing new to say and it left off with him coming to AA for The Game "10000%" sure he was going to Bama.

From past info and the way things would swing, my pure guess is that UM is running 3rd and a pretty distant 3rd for Jackson now.

Any way you slice it, "It's hard to say no" is a hesitant statement. Nobody says that when sure of something unless already doing it. If not already doing the thing it's hard to say no to you're saying you want to say no but something is making that hard.

Either way, just doesn't feel good for UM. At this point I'd be surprised if it sas UM and I actually think USC is neck-and-neck with Bama at this very moment. Would love to be wrong, have no info at this moment and refuse to ever sub to a recruiting service so I'm purely guessing on past info right now.

That said, I don't think this is a commitment. I think he will wait to Signing Day.
