I guess we'll find out soon enough if the 'Cuse reports are true.
January 30th, 2015 at 5:15 PM ^
not Michigan
January 30th, 2015 at 5:17 PM ^
Swim lanes Wheatley?
Fingers crossed . . . .
January 30th, 2015 at 5:31 PM ^
I'm shocked. I never saw this coming, not even two threads ago.
January 30th, 2015 at 5:19 PM ^
If it is Syracuse I wonder if Chryst has a Hoke like princpal in place - or if he is just being punitive. I don't get leaving Wisconsin for Syracuse, I just don't.
January 31st, 2015 at 5:41 AM ^
No One gets .leaving Wisconsin for Syracuse. He needs a therapist if this is true.
January 30th, 2015 at 5:19 PM ^
Clearly Wiltfong got the scoop and posted it before he was supposed to. Syracuse is a lock.
January 30th, 2015 at 5:24 PM ^
Has he visited Syracuse? Not exactly the most amazing place in the world....
January 30th, 2015 at 5:31 PM ^
We must be getting Wheatley or Snyder bc Clark's all Ucla
January 30th, 2015 at 5:32 PM ^
In a few classes with him. Asked him jokingly where he's heading the other day, wouldn't tell. Hope he's coming to A2!
January 30th, 2015 at 5:34 PM ^
That really isn't that impressive as Jersey is not real deep for talent. I don't quite understand the hype surrounding this guy. He seems like an average player at the collegiate level.

Don't bash on the kid rankings can be wrong sometimes

The kid is a middling talent. Nothing wrong with that. I just don't understand why some were so excited about him. This is a reserve/average starter type recruit.
January 30th, 2015 at 9:19 PM ^
but just excitement at a (potential) solid level steal in the last 2 weeks of the cycle essentially.
January 31st, 2015 at 1:20 AM ^
New Jersey's deeper than you probably think, but this "loss" doesn't bother me.
I'd be curious as to how the 27th rated player in Michigan compared - honestly I have no idea.
January 30th, 2015 at 5:36 PM ^
He might have been motivated by those huge upstate NY crowds...
January 30th, 2015 at 6:43 PM ^
silver lining?
January 30th, 2015 at 7:18 PM ^
this afternoon that Michigan said that there wasn't any room.
this makes a ton of sense given that he was literally crying on the sidelines in the big house because of the opportunity to play here.
Best of luck to the young man.
January 30th, 2015 at 8:34 PM ^
Maybe he just wanted to make sure he has no chance of ever playing those two extra games in January.
January 31st, 2015 at 12:28 AM ^
I have been to many of those games here. Syracuse: The Home of Boring Football No One Wants to Watch.
January 30th, 2015 at 5:46 PM ^
per his twitter
January 30th, 2015 at 5:47 PM ^
I wonder if Steve Wiltfong posted anything on Twitter confirming

@wolverfiend69 I think Michigan could still get him.

and good luck, Jake. Thanks for giving us a look.
January 30th, 2015 at 5:51 PM ^
Syracuse is like Michigan without the stress of performance demands, academically or athletically, exception in the latter case for basketball. May Jake Pickard live long and prosper.
January 30th, 2015 at 5:51 PM ^
You have Michigan and a a monster as a head coach and unpick the Orangemen WTF!!!!
January 30th, 2015 at 5:54 PM ^
Coming to Michigan. I guess he did not see playing time in his future.
January 30th, 2015 at 6:58 PM ^
Is that a guess or do you have something to back up saying Wheatley is coming, as if it's a lock
January 30th, 2015 at 5:53 PM ^
and the winner is Syracuse
January 30th, 2015 at 5:53 PM ^
We have some good ones in the bag cause we seem to be getting a lot of see you laters this past week.
January 30th, 2015 at 5:53 PM ^
This looks good for TWheat
January 30th, 2015 at 6:05 PM ^
Syracuse-ly? Come on man.
January 30th, 2015 at 6:27 PM ^
This is good news. Sam Webb said that if we don't get Pickard it's because we have a better prospect lined up. Probably means Wheatley JR is heading here.
January 30th, 2015 at 6:28 PM ^
you don't enjoy the despair in the recruiting failures of other programs (e.g., Texas). Michigan will not always be asked to the prom either.
January 30th, 2015 at 6:32 PM ^
this isn't necessarily bad news...
January 30th, 2015 at 7:13 PM ^
time will tell, but you would've thought his choice would be Michigan based on his family's reaction to getting an offer.
January 30th, 2015 at 10:04 PM ^
I'm just guessing here, but not sure his dad woulda bawled on the sidelines of the Carrier Dome

there are one or two higher rated guys that are coming
January 30th, 2015 at 6:40 PM ^
Sam Webb said he may have to wait to see if others commit before his offer becomes executable. Unfortunately for him he's caught in a numbers game and I'm sure he doesn't want to take a chance on falling too far.
January 30th, 2015 at 6:43 PM ^
Congrats to Jake
January 30th, 2015 at 6:47 PM ^
Harbaugh may think he has a good shot at Wheatley. Pickard commited today because he doesn't know if Michigan will have room for him. If Wheatley JR goes elsewhere then there may be room again for Pickard. That's how I interpret Wiltfong's tweet.
January 30th, 2015 at 6:51 PM ^
You skeevy lil perv.
January 30th, 2015 at 7:39 PM ^
Jordan Morgan would like a word with you, Otto.
January 30th, 2015 at 6:54 PM ^
I thought Wheatley was being recruited as a TE based on his time spent with offensive coaches and players on his visit so in that case this wouldn't have any bearing on this decision.
January 30th, 2015 at 7:09 PM ^
Soooooooo...Hello: Daishon Neal. What's that? Probably not. Ok then.
