Darboh says WRs took reps from both QBs in practice today

Not sure what it means overall (given all the misinformation that will happen this week) but good to hear in my opinion.

Hopefully they do, because they will lose if that is the case. Our receivers are no joke and more importantly Jake Butt will be thrown to. When linebackers or safeties have to play a fast sure-handed tight end from a position of disadvantage (off of or close to the line of scrimmage), the tight end will win that battle most times and can be for huge gains on post patterns or up the middle. GO BLUE!

I Predict that Speight will start. But I also predicted that "dumb & dumber too" was going to be a good movie. So take it for what it's worth.

Heh... I want to believe, but I also expect to see an offensive attack like we've never seen before. I predict Shane, John, Wilt, and Jabrill will throw; Shane will split out wide; John will run more; and Jabrill will catch more.

What if.......the whole injury was a hoax. What if Speight didn't really get hurt, and Harbaugh planned to play O'Korn for the Indiana game the whole time to throw off Ohio State. Speight's really fine, and will come out guns blazing on Saturday. A girl can dream....

plus common sense.

I believe Harbaugh thought he could win v Indiana with Okorn in order to have Speight at peak condition and remove all possibility of further damage by IU.

Okorns stat line was bad, 7 for 16 but as I've reiterated here, 4-5 gimme receiver drops that would have put him at 11-12 for 16 and easily over 100 yards passing just with those gains, plus convert on those mostly 3rd downs and it opens up more opportunities for additional yardage.  My firm belief is if the receivers make those catches then the media story is how well oKorn did.

I think its probably wise to have Okorn game-tuned as much as possible and available for play.  Recall a QB by the name of JT Barrett who had the unfortunate luck of a broken leg during a hard hitting game vs. a certain maize and blue team a few years back.  Just raising this point to remind that a backup QB is 1 play from going in and running the offense so I think Harbaugh did a very smart thing here, resting Speight and getting Okorn some "live fire" against guys trying to knock his block off and not just scout team vs. his naturally protective teammates.

The 4-5 drops were not routine catches that the receivers just lost concentration on and let slip through their hands though. They were a result of bad ball placement by the QB thus making the catch more difficult. I think O' Korn can improve but things will be even more difficult because he's gong to be throwing tighter coverage this week thus putting the pressure on him to be even more accurate.

Question from my end is even if Speight is able to start, how stable is his shoulder going to be...does the first big hit he takes knock him out of the game? Obviously, cannot be answered until we go live but I'm sure it's why O'Korn is taking snaps too even if Speight has the greenlight.

I don't buy it that these were legit reps. Probably just for the purpose of being able to tell the media that it happened is my guess

The question is - How injured is his non throwing shoulder? If it's as bad as the hits made it look like it may be, he won't play. Either way, Harbaugh isn't going to let any info slip out that hasn't been pre approved by him personally.

It's like when Morgan freeman told Bruce Wayne in the batman movie. "If you don't tell me what you're doing, then I don't have to lie about it" or something like that.

I'm guessing he played some not so meaningful snaps in practice so that the players could go on record and say that it happened.
