20-17 in the 1st quarter.
First one to 90 wins.
December 18th, 2021 at 10:01 PM ^
Sorry, I must have posted at the same time you did.
Not a lot of defense but this is the game Ferris plays. No discipline, dumb penalties, 3-4 turnovers, and lots and lots of points. Go Bulldogs!

Basketball on grass?
December 18th, 2021 at 10:16 PM ^
They've taken entirely too many penalties this season. They also had 7 turnovers against Saginaw Valley and somehow still scored 39 in regulation.
They're going to have to play at least a little defense tonight if they want a trophy.

This statement didn't age so well... LOL!!!
Congrats to Ferris St!!!
December 18th, 2021 at 10:33 PM ^
The Bulldogs beating some ass so far
December 19th, 2021 at 10:20 AM ^
Did you mean “overtaking”?
December 18th, 2021 at 10:33 PM ^
Ferris not getting the benefit of the calls so far though.
And I hope their QB's ankle is ok.
December 18th, 2021 at 10:34 PM ^
And here I thought D1 refs were the worst
December 18th, 2021 at 10:46 PM ^
Wow, Ferris now up 41-17 with just 11 seconds until the half.
December 18th, 2021 at 10:47 PM ^
That fact that Tony isn’t at the least a OC at a major D1 school is an insult to the game of football
December 18th, 2021 at 10:57 PM ^
Rumor has it that he's an asshole
December 19th, 2021 at 12:28 AM ^
Just like another D2 coach I know.
December 19th, 2021 at 7:28 AM ^
the rumors understate.
December 19th, 2021 at 9:23 AM ^
What are the rumors?
December 19th, 2021 at 11:31 AM ^
Rumor has it that he's an asshole
See above…

There's some discussion of Tony in this dark thread from about a year ago:
https://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/suggestion-hire-ferris-state%27s-tony-annese#comments
It seems simple from a distance. If Tony is good *and* he's judged to be low-risk with off-field stuff, he'd be a candidate for bigger jobs. That's never happened. 2 + 2 = ?
Here's another way to look at it: You could say that Tony has been "blackballed" from D1, but I think that would be ridiculous. Just look in Michigan. In addition to UM and MSU you have three directionals of size. Annese clearly has the goods. Less accomplished guys than him get in D1 pipelines every year. He's been on the map for years. Why is he not getting hired? Must be a reason ... right?
December 19th, 2021 at 12:59 PM ^
Looking at any CC thread from a year ago is quite the trip
December 19th, 2021 at 8:42 AM ^
What’s that tell you about how dirty Annese is? He’s been in trouble everywhere he’s been. I have a hard time believing he’s able to recruit all these Florida kids and D1 transfers to Big Rapids, MI and it’s all on the up and up.
December 19th, 2021 at 7:26 PM ^
There is no money stuff if that’s what you are implying. My son coached under Tony the last couple of years. They take a lot of reclamation projects. Kids who got in trouble or struggled academically ect. Now they are winning they also sell kids on the fact that you can go win 8 games at a MAC school or you can play for a National championship at Ferris. On top of that, they have guys playing on Sunday and more on this current team that will be playing in the NFL too.
December 20th, 2021 at 9:02 AM ^
and let's be honest, the admission standards at Ferris are basically half a step higher than community college so it's easy to take in kids who need a second chance.
If you're good enough, the NFL will find you. Matt Judon & Brand Carr (GVSU) are prime examples of that.
December 18th, 2021 at 10:50 PM ^
And Ferris gets the ball to start the 3rd....assuming Valdosta does not onside kick.
December 18th, 2021 at 11:05 PM ^
This halftime stat line for Ferris St is bananas:
Passing: 1-2 47yds 1TD
Rushing: 26att 318yds 5TDs
December 19th, 2021 at 8:57 AM ^
Our own Jimmy H should be all over this :)
McCarthy running a triple option with Haskins, Corum, Edwards and Henning would, indeed, put a defense in conflict.
December 18th, 2021 at 11:36 PM ^
Ferris is a fun team to watch. Back in the red zone again with 4 minutes to go in the 3rd and already leading 44-17.
TD!!! Now 50-17 pending the xp.
December 18th, 2021 at 11:40 PM ^
I wish these ESPNU guys would try to announce the game and quit talking about non-football nonsense. Where did they find these clowns? Ferris is up 51-17.
December 19th, 2021 at 12:25 PM ^
"Where did they find these clowns?"
I'd say clowns (or, more precisely, dorks) are the rule rather than the exception at ESPN.
December 18th, 2021 at 11:44 PM ^
ckersh74, do you go to any Ferris football games? How closely do you follow them?
December 19th, 2021 at 12:01 AM ^
I haven’t been back since 2014. I’ve followed a bit since then. I generally don’t watch, since every time I watch something bad happens. I turned on the 4th quarter tonight.
December 19th, 2021 at 12:27 AM ^
I hate it when that happens.
Enjoy the win regardless!
December 19th, 2021 at 11:35 AM ^
D-II PBONE is a thing…
December 19th, 2021 at 12:00 AM ^
Hell yeah here we go Bulldogs!!! Pour it on.
December 19th, 2021 at 12:03 AM ^
Fuck your peanut butter and jelly. Call the damn game.
December 19th, 2021 at 12:08 AM ^
I don’t think I’ve ever despised two announcers as much as these guys.
December 19th, 2021 at 11:38 AM ^
I listened to a preseason ML Baseball game in the world wide leader and the announcers were just chatting away on and on about her college softball career.
No mention of who’s at bat, who’s pitching, what’s their status with the team… had to watch on mute.
December 19th, 2021 at 12:10 AM ^
Brutal crew tonight.
December 19th, 2021 at 1:30 AM ^
I’ll take this as a harbinger of things to come with a MI team taking out a GA team.
December 19th, 2021 at 5:28 AM ^
Congratulations to the Ferris Football Team. National champions!
