You don't have to be wrong to be an asshole.

(I happen to agree with you re: Smith>Green, but I'm not goint to berate anyone for thinking differently because neither you nor I really have much info to judge by).

...and Mike Hart was a 3 star tiny RB that played for a nowhere HS in a small conference... it can happen...Im not saying it is going to happen...but Smith has a shot.  Right now hie looks to be in better shape than Green.  Green can happen too...however Im one thta ws not knocked out by his HS tape... however he is a B10 RB too.  It wiil be interesting to see what happens between the two of them in competition.

It seems weird to me that the only play they show is him on a play that is blown up at the point of attack. My assumption is that he is tearing it up and they don't want anyone to know quite yet. Sneaky...

The overreaction in this thread has reached a fever pitch. I guess I never paid much attention in the past but some of the comments are laughable, if not for their content, for their conviction

Well, that didn't make me feel any better about the interior line, but it was only a scrimmage. So I guess I'll have to wait till the actual season...

got burned several times in that video.  He clearly needs to join weight watchers with Derrick Green or needs more rehab time.  YOU KNOW HOW I CAN TELL - I SAW FIVE PLAYS FROM A CTK VIDEO!!!!

Hmm..it is mid August and time to throw out some "bank it" statements. Devin has a better year and numbers than Braxton Miller and finishes All B1G. Fitzgerald makes everyone forget about heralded freshmen RBs.....1100 yes and 10 TDs. Darboh/Chesson live up to the fan base hype and leave the rest of the B1G wondering "Where did these guys come from?" Our D finishes in top 15 scoring. Our sack totals increase by 8-10. We see Thomas playing in non-nickel situations early in the season. Wormley "gets it" around the fifth game and starts to become a dominant force.

What is up with the reviving corps practice jersey numbers being a different typeface that the rest of them? They also don't have the stupid Adidas claw mark things on the shoulders.

I will offer my take, which, as a critically uninformed and over excitable fan, is clearly absolutely essential reading.

Pass Blocking may be pretty good, or Pass Rush may have great potential but be spotty.

Run Blocking may need some work yet while showing flashes. I don't think there's anything wrong with the D-Line's run defense.

Gardner can flat out throw that ball.

Saw good things from all over the recieving corp.

Fitz looked great running and did some nice pass-pro.

Fitz is probably definitely our #1 back. (Really strong statement, isn't it? Probably definitely.)

Cam Gordon could have a very nice year.

Hayes will see increased playing time this year.

There were no catches for Darboh on the clips, but he looks like a very eager blocker.  He comes in and cracks down on LBs and DBs on the first 2 run plays.

We still can't get push up front when run blocking.  Our d-line is solid, but not elite by any means.  If we can't move them off the ball we can't expect to do so against top defenses.  We will have trouble running against ND, OSU, MSU, etc.  This situation has not ironed out yet, it won't be next year either with two new tackles.  Our o-line won't be what we expect until 2015 at the earliest. That is frustrating.

I don't know, our DL might be pretty close to elite. QW is a sure-fire NFL draft pick and everyone around him is solid. Our DL won't be the best in the league from a pass rush standpoint, but in terms or run D, we have the best in the league. As mentioned before, I think only ND will play better against the run than us. My point is that our OL will look better running the football against all but one of or opponent than they do against our DL. Running the ball against ND will be tough though.

I don't mean that to sound as though we suck.  We are above average, just not sure we are a B1G title type o-line yet as some think.  I do think our run defense will be good against a pro style offense like the one our offense is running...not so sure if they will against the style OSU, NW, and Neb will run.  I think this is mainly due to the size of our NTs.  I just don't think we will be a good enough down hill running team to take advantage of the play action the way the coaches want agains the better teams we play.  I still think they will have to use Devin's legs more than they want against the better defenses we play (ND, MSU, OSU, etc.).  I think we won't have trouble running against our other non-conference opponents and Minn, Ind, Neb, and Iowa.  Just not sure about ND, OSU, MSU, maybe even PSU, and whoever we get in the bowl.  And if we really are gonna win the B1G we need to be able to get it done against OSU, MSU, PSU, etc.  Time will tell and hopefully they will develop over the course of the season, but as of yet I don't see the evidence that's all.

That was fun to watch, but I don't think we can take anything out of some heavily edited clips.  Obviously plenty was left out. Remember, Borges treats the existence of the pistol like the US treats the existence of drone strikes. Also, I'm thinking that they didn't go an entire scrimmage without Gallon getting a single look.
