You will drop in the polls, that's pretty sad. But then again we are talking about a UM team that hasn't beaten a ranked team in 4-5 years. The fact that UM fans are beating their chest cause they have a win against BYU is fuking hilarious. How pathetic !

The Ohio State University is now 46-3 under UFM and holds the current longest winning streak in FBS at 21 In other new there was a game between title contender MSU and that other team in Michigan that sucks real bad. It was a lopsided game with MSU gaining twice as many yards, and twice as many first downs. MSU crush all hopes of UM beating their first ranked team in 5 years with a play the went something like this. Uploaded with Imgupr

8 is the perfect number.  It allows 5 slots for the P5 conference champs, 2 deserving at-larges, and a slot for the best non-P5 team for political correctness reasons.

It keeps the regular season highly meaningful - the essence of CFB - while creating a compelling and easily workable Playoff scenario.

There would be plenty of drama each year around the two at-large slots.  So even the people who love to argue - some for a living - would have something to like in an 8 team playoff.

Yeah the traditional New Years Bowls should be round 1 - you win your conference championship or you are not in - polls mean nothing.

Rose Big Ten vs Pac10

Orange ACC vs SEC

Cotton Big 12 vs Mountian West

Sugar USA vs MAC

screw the AAC Sun Belt and Independents

force BYU and ND to join a conference

Given 4 of the big time conferences have conference championship games, this would essentially be a 12 team playoff. We seen conferences with one of the division representativeso has a very unimpressive record. If they happen to win the conference championship game they wounderstand be in.

This happened in the Pac 12 a few years ago.  I suppose you could have a "safety valve" that says you have to have no more than [2] losses as a conference champ to be in.

But personally, I say Fuck it, if you win your conference you should be in.  Even if your record is not that good, you beat someone who's record is.  You are playing good football at that point.  And you still have the two at larges to pick up teams that did not win their conference but have a better record than you.

No, the first round should be the first or second weekend of December, played on campus.  Dump the pointless conference title games (does anyone really want to see the Big Ten title decided at Lucas Oil Stadium?) and use that weekend for playoffs.

The semifinals should be held on New Year's, at traditional bowl sites.

The final should be a week later.

Whoo Hoo!!  We're the top 2-loss team, ahead of a bunch of 1-loss and even undefeated teams.

This is actually a sign of progress.  When we were good back in the day, we were always the top 1-loss team or the top 2-loss team . . . because our losses were always very close and only ever to other top teams.  Everyone else, we blew out.

We are starting to look like that again.

I was at a birthday party yesterday. A sparty fan was insistent that they should still be #2 because they've continued to win. I had to explain to him that when CMU and IU play them tough for most of the game and Rutgers and Purdue take you to the wire, then you aren't the #2 team in the land. He had a dumbfounded look on his face.

Stidham is pretty good as  a backup; he is a sleeper on my fantasy team, and there was talk that he'd have been the starter coming out of camp had Russell not been in the system for a couple of years.  They probably aren't going undefeated either way, but they are going to lose because that defense has been beset by injuries, not because they have to hand the keys to that offense over.
