If I was Pittsburgh, I would have asked them to only suspend him for one game... since they play again after that one.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:27 PM ^
As tempting as it is to whoop his ass, Pittsburgh will take total domination over Cleveland and the overall satisfaction of not being a shitbox franchise or city.
Leave the thug bullshit to Ohio.
November 15th, 2019 at 1:29 PM ^
Look at this meth pipe Yinzer spouting off. You'll lose the next one too.
November 15th, 2019 at 6:46 PM ^
Yeah well the Ravens are fixing to whoop BOTH your asses at the end of the season. Jackson is dabbing all over the NFL and nobody is going to stop him.
November 15th, 2019 at 9:01 PM ^
Oh yeah!! Well the Bengals are gonna {quickly surveys the last 30 years of Bengals performance}........ah shit.
Go Blue!! Fuck Staee.
November 15th, 2019 at 2:11 PM ^
Detroit fanboys are a little ignorant, but Pittsburgh fanboys are straight up the worst.
You think that Ben's assault victims "deserved it". GFY.
November 15th, 2019 at 6:00 PM ^
This escalated quickly!
November 15th, 2019 at 12:22 PM ^
Is he suspended from all circuses or just in Cleveland?
November 15th, 2019 at 12:23 PM ^
what a hot take, should be assault
Mineral King coming in with the heat again
November 15th, 2019 at 12:29 PM ^
Gotta draw the line somewhere. I would suspend him for all of next year as well. That was completely uncalled for and dangerous.
November 15th, 2019 at 3:48 PM ^
This is assault, but throwing a baseball at someone at 95mph and hitting them in the back because they watched their HR for too long is just sports...
November 15th, 2019 at 6:32 PM ^
That's also assault. But, y'know, people are stupid.
November 15th, 2019 at 5:00 PM ^
I agree here. What if he connected cleanly and split Rudolph’s head open? I’ve always been curious how things like this can be overlooked simply because it happened during a sporting event. If I get into a fight with someone and throw a chair at them, I’m getting in trouble for assault. Not sure why people feel those laws and rules shouldn’t apply here
November 16th, 2019 at 6:54 AM ^
Never throw a bong kid
November 15th, 2019 at 12:44 PM ^
It might be a hot take, but it ain't totally wrong...
November 15th, 2019 at 12:23 PM ^
"Cleveland clown"
That's a bit redundant.
November 15th, 2019 at 1:32 PM ^
Of the extent of your knowledge of the area begins and ends with Desmond Howard, I can see how you'd say that.
November 15th, 2019 at 1:52 PM ^
Bravo!
November 15th, 2019 at 2:42 PM ^
Actually, I've been to the mistake on the lake. Nasty place.
Reality is that Ohio is the wasteland between Ann Arbor and Pittsburgh.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:24 PM ^
Suspension would have been half that if he were white.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:27 PM ^
Bruh, you a dumb mother fucker. My dude assaulted a guy with his helmet.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:28 PM ^
Shut the fuck up you moron
November 15th, 2019 at 12:29 PM ^
WRONG: if he were a BUCKEYE
November 15th, 2019 at 12:38 PM ^
Hey look we have a white liberal playing the race card...how cute
November 15th, 2019 at 12:40 PM ^
Bolivia beckons...
November 15th, 2019 at 12:45 PM ^
Time to get negged by the white kids.
November 15th, 2019 at 1:03 PM ^
And by the Black Guy born in 1984.
November 15th, 2019 at 2:35 PM ^
The voting on your and my comment just proves my point.
This isn’t the blog to discuss this anyway, so I won’t.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:51 PM ^
He was suspended indefinitely.
(Indefinitely)/2=?
This is the most problematic part of your comment, IMO.
Oh and the race baiting. Forgot about the race baiting. NVM.
November 15th, 2019 at 1:09 PM ^
I do have to question why Mason Rudolf hasn't been suspended
November 15th, 2019 at 1:28 PM ^
Suspended for a thing that might get flagged half the time its done?
November 15th, 2019 at 2:06 PM ^
Non of the following excuses Garrett's behavior. He deserves the suspension he got.
But Rudolf started the face mask pulling, kick the guy in the nuts. Charged back in for more after his lineman had put himself between the two. He bears a big responsibility for how it escalated.
November 15th, 2019 at 2:41 PM ^
Yeah. Working in Columbus with fans of the browns and the Steelers, nobody wants to hear from somebody unbiased. Hitting Rudolph with the helmet was over the top. But Rudolph pulled on his head repeatedly, kicked him in the groin twice, and after the offensive lineman and ref separated them, Rudolph ran back in to assault Garrett again. That's not acceptable anywhere.
November 15th, 2019 at 3:20 PM ^
All of that is true, including that he bears responsibility.
But suppose Garrett didn't swing the helmet at his head. You think Rudolph gets suspended for what he did? I don't. And since Garrett is walking away with his helmet in this thought experiment, I don't even think Rudolph gets flagged. Maybe they get offsetting ones.
The only reason anyone is saying Rudolph should be suspended is out of some knee jerk both-sides thing.
November 15th, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
Dude used a fucking HELMET as a SKULL CRUSHING MALLET!!! I don't care if Rudolph teabagged him on national television. If that's out on the street and not under the bright lights of a football stadium, that's assault and Garrett would be sitting in a jail cell right now (or he'd have been recently bailed out of said jail cell).
November 15th, 2019 at 4:06 PM ^
Guys it’s called battery not assault. Hard to take it seriously when you don’t know the difference. And fin it “was in the street” Garrett could make a case he was defending gay himself after being bartered and assaulted by Rudolph. Fuck Rudolph. Hope his career continues to be a failure.
November 15th, 2019 at 5:35 PM ^
If they're on your team they're justified!
As mad as you are you must be on Myles' payroll and the $3 million lost this year is coming out of your pocket.
November 15th, 2019 at 4:43 PM ^
Non of the following excuses Garrett's behavior.
Guess you didn't comprehend the part quoted above?
November 15th, 2019 at 1:39 PM ^
Nah it's because he attacked a QB. Have a fight with a QB and you're lucky they don't shoot you.
If it had been another lineman, he'd have gotten 2 games. If it had been an actually good QB, they'd have put him in a rocket and shot him to Mars with only a month's worth of food on board.
November 15th, 2019 at 7:05 PM ^
This was the take on LeBatard this morning. It was hilarious listening to them mock everyone in the media for their faux moral outrage.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:25 PM ^
That guy has to be on roids
November 15th, 2019 at 12:40 PM ^
Did you google his current picture? He looks like the Incredible Hulk. Humans don’t look like that from eating right and working out hard.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:54 PM ^
Are you suggesting he was Belted with Gamma-Rays?
November 15th, 2019 at 1:06 PM ^
Maybe Gamma-Roids.
November 15th, 2019 at 1:41 PM ^
Maybe works with Joe Bachie's trainer.
November 15th, 2019 at 1:56 PM ^
And so is almost everyone in the NFL. It’s crazy how easy it is to get away with it. Same goes for the NBA too.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:26 PM ^
Fuck that guy. Should be in prison for assault with a weapon. NFL players agree
November 15th, 2019 at 4:16 PM ^
If that's true then so should every pitcher who intentionally throws at a batter.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:26 PM ^
Mason should pay Pouncey's fine and missing paychecks. I want that guy watching my six and punting the head of anybody screwing with me.
Honestly, I wish Michigan had a lineman willing to take a suspension in order to send a message to anyone screwing with our QBs, e.g. McCaffrey getting head-hunted by Wisconsin should have brought a major retaliation by a member of the OL.
